Saw their prototype version of this at the TAS - anyone have any info on when this might drop for our FL5s?

I know this thread is a couple months old, but we haven't heard a solid ETA yet. Rumor is still around fall/winter this year. Although are you partial/prefer the HKS SSQV4 sound or do you just want more blow off noises? We have had good success with the Turbosmart Kompact BOV (VTA) and have done extensive testing with our tuner to ensure it's good-to-go on our platforms. Here's a quick interior cabin video sound with a Takeda Intake + Turbosmart Kompact BOV + HKS Hi-Power exhaust.

We have the BOV in stock and ready to ship if you're interested in that as an alternative.

To me, this doesn't sound any better than stock with an HVI.

Like others, I'm in it mainly for *that* sound.

A HVI (even PRL) wouldnt be nearly as loud. Stock BPV is quite muted compared to this. And this was taken inside the cabin on a cell phone that fell on the floor when recording 😅

I'll see if I can get an exterior video but its actually quite loud. It reminds me a bit of the Tial BOVs too.

But yes, SSQV4 is a bit different because its got the unique sound and flutter at times. This is more like a sneeze/woosh like the Tials.

Ah gotcha.

Yeah, I grew in the late 90s/early 00s so I got a soft spot for that sound.

I cant quite remember if this version or type was on my 240, but is this similar to all the HKS bov? Im referring to the sound.

Likely so. The SSQV has a unique sound that it is well known for.

Hmmm...is this something I need? :hmm: I had one of these on my STi. What a glorious auditory experience.

The 14 yr old inside of you definitely says you need it. Since I got the ITS pops on the base map my son has not stopped talking about I need to get one lol

Yes, and that's part of the problem. The older me might be over it after a week of driving. I try not to be like a dog chasing cars when these new parts come out. Honestly, I need to chill. The next thing will be to transition from this OTS map and move to a custom tune.
