I just grabbed six quarts from my local dealer for $62. Also have a Votex oil valve on the way. I plan on changing oil around 800 miles to get the break in junk out (all the moly and metals). Will start doing blackstone analysis with the Formula R oil after that.

It would be nice if you could do an oil analysis 😅
Surely someone will get there before I will, but I wouldn't mind. I've already ordered some Blackstone kits. I want to monitor my engine and trans. This would be my first experience and I'll definitely need some help interpreting the data.

This was my thought. BUT, I'm doing it for an opposing reason. I want to see all the moly crap. It's been a deep discussion that the moly is in the oil, not the assembly. Primarily in idemitsu oil. I'm looking to compare: HRC, Idemitsu, Mobil 1 ESP, and Kirkland in my conditions. 😅

assumption is, all engines ship w/ idemitsu (OAs indicate this, no hard proof on my end).

seems most Japanese oils use a lot of moly

HRC oil is in. I cannot say things like the engine sounds quieter & feels smoother. I only have 50 miles post service. That's rubbish.

I did save 1 quart of oil and a nearly full oil filter for the Blackstone sample. Again, I've never done one, all I know is oil is need for the test. I'm leaning towards the contents in the filter for the sample😅

Goodnight fellas.

The bottle looks really cool and the price is not bad for a premium synthetic.

Curious how much different the formula is vs the new Philips 66 Valor Shield which made the previous Honda Ultimate Synthetic ( now discontinued ).

Afternoon everyone,

Blackstone samples went out yesterday. This batch is the Honda factory oil. I will be changing oil again at 1500 miles or so, sending in samples of both engine and trans. HRC engine oil & OE trans fluid. I'll update everyone as it unfolds.
