I get the fact that for a lot of people the FL5 CTR is a second car or weekend fun car to track & hoon about. But I daily drive my CTR and I really wish they had fitted the car with a larger fuel tank. My commute for work is 80 mostly expressway miles and it feels like I'm constantly at the fuel station especially since I'm one of those weirdos that doesn't like to see the fuel gauge get much below the 1/2 tank mark. I thought the 14.7 gal. tank in my Accord was small for a midsize sedan, but 12.4 gal in the CTR is tiny. At he end of the day it's a minor inconvenience, but I still don't like it.

Fuel tank capacity is a fair call out. It's definitely a less than ideal characteristic of the FL5. The small fuel tank is exacerbated by below average fuel economy. If this thing got 40 mpg, fuel tank capacity would be a non-issue. I have noticed city fuel economy is especially poor as I'm seeing ~17-19 mpg.

Yeah it's annoying , esp because the fuel light comes on around 10 gallons which makes OCD people like me refill then

The fuel capacity is one of the few areas where the FL5 shows it's economy car roots. I'm averaging 24-25 for my work commute (mostly open city driving) and I'm filling up at the same rate as my previous Mustang GT. However, It's rare I fill up at 10 gallons, usually 9.XX, so it's still less than the 16 gallon tank my previous car had. Still, even 2 gallons more capacity would be nice!

Road trips won't be too bad. I was averaging 39mpg with the cruise set to 60mph from an out-of-town autocross and 35mpg at 70mph coming back from the track. I've found the car's average fuel economy meter to be generous by about 1 to 1.5 mpg. While I didn't buy the car for fuel economy, it's a nice metric to keep track of. Besides, better economy means more money for entry fees, tires and modifications.

This is a minor annoyance to be sure. I am getting just under 27 combined, not to much 'city' driving, mostly good traffic flow and 45-50 mph roads around town. Lots of trips push 30.
That said, on short trips or bad stop and go not so impressive. The SI did way better - I saw well into the 40's on some trips and always averaged close to 35 mpg.

Yes, it is cheaper to fill that smaller tank, but methinks Honda should have at least gone for 14-15 gallons if not the 16 gallon tank in my wife's SC430... which gets worse mileage but has at least as good a range. So the 2018 manual turbo 4 cylinder goes no further than the 8 cylinder NA, 600 lb heavier coupe with tech from 2002. That makes sense.

We live almost 12 miles from the nearest gas station, so I can't let it get down but so far.

Have not run out of gas once in 3 1/2 years - but it has been close.

There is some margin of error built into the gas gauge at least. Pulled into Costco once and it showed 1 mile left of range. Yikes!

This was my main issue since day one. It's a shame since the fuel tank on the FL5 is a unique part number.
Maybe we can petition PRL to make one🤣

In the meantime I'm filling up every 200miles every 4 days, range anxiety.

For me its not that bad. Most of my cars have 12 gallon tanks and similar range. I’m used to it by now. It could be worse though, my TRX has a 33 gallon tank and gets 8 mpg’s on city and 14 on highway. I have to refuel it just as much as the type R😂.

Lots of room in the hatch for some extra 5 gas tank containers. Gee, what could go wrong with that?

If I were driving it more I’d be annoyed too, but I’m blessed to work from home now so luckily it’s not as big of an issue.

I mostly work from home, but Amazon notwithstanding, I do all the grocery shopping and between that and other errands, still have 45,000 miles on my 2018. Which means I put on just over 31,000 miles in 3 1/2 years. Not that bad I guess.

Ehh, not bothered by it but I feel for people that have a longer commute. My last car had roughly the same size tank but had worse MPG so I am actually in a better spot with the FL5 regarding range.

Was your last vehicle a motorcycle?😂

I guess a Prius gets a 11.4 gallon tank.
