Does the car cut fuel or ignition timing at the rev limiter? I was revving out in 2nd gear today and accidentally allowed the car to hit the rev limiter and I felt a hard fuel cut instead of what I thought should have allowed me to be bouncing off the limiter? From what I've heard, fuel cut off only in 1st, but it should allow me to bounce off the limiter at 2nd and up? Is this not the case with the FL5?

The stock FL5 uses a fuel-cut rev limiter.

When the limit is reached the injectors shut off, torque collapses suddenly, RPM falls a few hundred rpm, fuel is restored, and the cycle can repeat if the driver stays at wide-open throttle.

This produces the hard, stuttering cut, rather than the progressive ignition-retard "bounce"

Once true redline is reached, the same fuel-cut limiter applies in 2nd gear and higher. In 2nd the car still has enough acceleration that an accidental over-rev is easy if the shift is delayed.

I have done this pretty much every time I accelerate hard in 1st and 2nd...

I cannot seem to shift fast enough or modulate the accelerator (nor clutch) to get smooth launches :-(
