HKS Hi-Power Exhaust: Pics and Vid

Like almost every exhaust for this car it sounds "pretty good" which is all we can ask for I guess. Dude how many friggin' exhausts have you tried for your car ?

Lol yeah so hard sometimes to describe these exhausts. Comparing to apexi, I want to say apexi was deeper. This has a bit more aggressive growl to it compared to apexi.

On my fk8 pretty much the same except Mugen and apexi, but I tried remus which I liked the most on the fk8

I didn't pay attention to the rpma, but mainly the mph. At 66 to about 80mph there is drone when your going slightly uphill.
I could see this drone a lot at the track though. I'm running rv6 catted downpipe.

For me, so far after a couple days, the only drone I get isn't too often for daily driving and has bothered me. The drone from r400 invidia drove me nuts at all rpms and mph

This sounds good and looks good!!! No huge mufflers cans hanging out the back is a huge plus. Congrats. I had to explain the dual fat and polished cans hanging off the rear end of a civic to my 15yr old daughter just this week.

Thanks, I fixed some audio issues in recording and will upload a new vid of just cruising in the car with the hks hi power...to give those an idea of how it is inside. The video is uploading to youtube right now, so it'll be a bit.

Just installed mine last week, stock engine otherwise but love the way it sounds. Sounds like a type R should without being obnoxious or raspy

I guess I'm like the exhaust whisperer at this point. I ended up getting the HKS Hi-Power to try it out.

I do like this exhaust and glad some things I was worried about weren't an issue for me.

1. I was worried it would be too loud with my RV6 catted downpipe...it's not surprisingly
2. Worried the tips stuck out too much. Seems it's the pics that make it appear that way. I did take some wide angle shots that exaggerate it a bit. In person, barely see them. I know the pics might say other wise, but I had to of course purposely get the angles I got.
3. Drone. I worried the drone would be similar to Invidia R400. But to my surprise it was fine. There is a tad, above 66mph. But nothing that isn't unbearable. I'm running RV6 Catted downpipe, so it's good in my book.

I think this has more drone than Apexi form what I can remember when I had apexi.
However, the drone isn't that bad and I've kept it on so far. The drone usually hits around 65mph...but not a lot of drone to me.

Hey, sorry vague question, but I've been on the fence about the HKS or Apexi for some time. Like the way the Apexi build looks, but everyone talks about the HKS having the superior noise (more growl as you say). Is that the best way to sum up the comparison?

yeah, I'd say HKS is more aggressive sounding and honestly a bit louder. Just be aware, there is some drone. If you find yourself driving a lot for periods of I'd say an hour or more, and with other people in the car, it could get annoying.
