If you've test driven the 1.5T and 2.0NA, which do you prefer?

We know the 1.5T is about 1.5 seconds faster to 60, it's maximum torque arrives much much earlier at around 2000 RPM.
-Does the 1.5T come paired with a different (more robust) CVT?
-Which engine is accelerates from a dead stop with less hesitation? To me, throttle response is important. When I want it to go, it has to go. 0-15 or 0-30 times are therefore more important than 0-60 times.

The choice is clear... 1.5

If you don't need the features that come with a 1.5 equipped trim then the 2.0 is absolutely fine too.

If your looking for better 0-30 then wait for the hybrid. I'm sure it will be quicker off the line.

I test drove the hybrid. can confirm the instant torque thing. Also accelerates pretty good until 120 km/h. But a lot less “fun” than my 10th gen SportPlus 1.5T…
For me those 2 cars are completely different worlds. I also have to mention that the Honda “ecvt” (direct drive) is much less annoying than a toyota ecvt transmission. And the hybrids (at least for the EU market) are all made in Japan which is a huge thing. Quality of assembly, weldings, everything is much better.

6MT is the missing ingredient that takes Civic from competent daily to real sportiness. I used to track my humble 2.0L (6MT K20 with natural aspired engine in 10th Gen Sedan) and it'd keep up with the BRZ/GT86. The 2700lb curb weight in my old 2017 LX Sedan gave it a big advantage. But, for long term track use, beefed up suspension components (11th Si seems to have more of it) would be reshoring. Granted, at 176,000km the stock component in base model didn't fail me, but I did feel it needed a major refresh in order for me to continue tracking it...which led me to trade it in for the EN.

I've had a 10th Gen 1.5 with a CVT for years and I just got the 1.5 Sport Touring with the 6 speed and will not go back to an automatic. Its just too fun to drive.

If this is just a daily to get you from A to B the 2.0 NA is great with suspension mods, you can get a performance bump with an OTS tune using Hondata or KTuner, but beyond that you're pretty limited.
