I'm looking at buying an 11th-gen Si. I work at Honda, and everyone around the shop says head gasket issues aren't common on the Si, but they do happen. Does anyone here have a high-mileage 2022+ Si? How has your ownership experience been so far? Have you had any major issues, especially with the head gasket, or has the car been reliable?

Headgasket issues on 11th gen 1.5t (2022+) civics seem to be much less common than the 10th gen civics. If you don't plan on tuning the car, it is very reliable. 27won mentioned as long as you aren't nearing 300HP the OEM gasket and studs are good. I've also heard the issue is mostly fixed because the head bolts on the 11th gen are torqued from factory more uniformly. It seems the 10th gen civics were torqued all haphazard like. Also realize the 11th gen civics use the same engine and turbo as the Accords, Integras, adx and CRV. If there were headgasket issues on the newer engine, you would also hear about accords, CRV and Integras with issues to.

Your local honda service center will disagree with your statement.
They deal with 1.5T headgasket issues on stock cars all the time.

Yes on 10th gen civics but did they mention also on 11th gen? Im not saying it doesn't or won't happen, it is just less common. It's strange that very few members on 11th gen civic websites have had issues but yet the stigma from the 10th gen carried over. It's also strange how almost nobody complains about any CRV, Accord or Integra headgasket issues when they have the same engine as the 11th gen civics.

Either way, I wouldn't be deterred by buying a 2023+ Si because...
1) if it happens, it rarely results in a catastrophic failure I.e. repairable, especially since you work at a dealer, I'm assuming you get a discount.
2) There are aftermarket head gaskets and bolts/studs that further reduce the problem.
3) What other car are you going to get that is comparable but don't have any issues too?

I agree with you. Its rare i haven’t seen any Civic Si’s yet. Also yes we do get discount plus free labor since i can do by myself. There’s not really other car nearby this some lack interior features and quality. Neither they’re good daily driver for that price point.

11th gen si l15ca head is the exact same head on problematic 1.5t accord. I haven't had any issues on my 10th Gen civic with nearly 150k miles, so if I make it that far on my 11th Gen, I'll be ok. If it blows, I can diy it.
