If I wiggle my ITS' steering wheel when stopped I hear a thunk sound, do other people hear this on their car?

I feel the steering feedback isn't as good as it used to be, but on it's own I figure it might be too vague a complaint to bring up to the dealer.

I had the steering recall done a month ago, I couldn't say whether this started before or after.

'25 FL5 no recall, doesn't make that noise. Not a 1:1 by any means but thought I would give some feedback.

Kinda wish i got a '24 /'25. Usually wait to purchase a year or two after a new model is released.

I also have the same issue with my 2023 Civic Hatchback Sport. You can find my post under my profile with a video of exact same sound. I’ve found quite a handful of other posts that suggest a tie rod placement has fixed their issues. Good luck to you, and please let me know if you’ve found a solution!

Sorry for the late reply, I did not bring it to the dealership. It sounds like it's coming directly from the steering assembly and handful of others share a similar experience who has had theirs checked by dealer with no result. It doesn't affect the way the car drives, at most just bothering with the sound. I am keeping an eye on it, and if anything unusual happens I will take it to another mechanic (I've already have two mechanics checked it out and both said it was my coilovers, it was NOT my coilovers. lol).

I did end up bringing it to the dealership myself.

For the sound when wiggling the steering wheel, they compared it to another car that also had the recall done and they found that it made the same sound. On that basis they conclude that this is normal for a car that has had the recall done, although they had no explanation for where the sound might come from. They did check the joints involved in steering and didn't find any play.

In terms of steering feel, a tech took it out on a test drive and found that it was fine, unsurprisingly. They explained that effort might be lower than before due to the added lubrication from the recall. I did explain that my complaint about steering feel is not about lower effort, but ultimately there is no way for me to clearly demonstrate or quantify the change in feel, and on their end they couldn't see any physical issue that requires fixing.

Wow. A shitty response from Honda dealers as expected. I’ve recently changed both the inner and outer tie rods but the sound still persist. I think I’m going to give up on it since you said it’s common with the recall. Thanks for the update!

Useful to know! I'm curious, do you mean you haven't had the recall done, or is your car recent enough to not need the recall?

I don't think 25s are part of that recall.
