Driving today doing a little pull on an on ramp Dashboard lights up like a Christmas Tree - Emission Problem reduced speed and rpm - See dealer, Rev Match disabled, brake system light and check engine light came on. WTF?! I think to myself. Make it home turned it off, back on the brake system warning went away, read the codes and I get P0087 Fuel Rail Pressure Low. Did a quick search there’s no recall on my VIN but I noticed there was a fuel pump recall a while back?

After cycling the power went for a quick drive and it drives and revs fine. CEL and warning still on.

I’ve had the car from new, 2 miles and after the break in. At WOT at around 5000rpm be it 5100-5200 there’s been a brief but noticeable hesitation under heave acceleration, like ans if you let off the accelerator half way real quick and back on, Initially I thought it was just the power band curve but maybe not?

anyone with any insight? Obviously well within warranty. Do I reset the CEL and see if it comes back or take it in and have it investigated?

Car is stock.

Take it in to the dealership. From what I've read online the High Pressure Fuel Pump is still a problem on these, carrying over from the FK8. I think a few guys have gotten local dealers to change the pump and their issues disappeared. If anyone else has any ideas they can chime in, but thats my two pennies (cents) worth.

Aggressive maneuvers with low fuel tank levels can result in reduced fuel pressure. Forum members mention track day fuel starvation issues somewhere below 1/2 full.

With multiple alerts, I'd also check the battery state of charge and connections.

Do you have ability to read freeze frame data on your tool? If it’s stock no mods at all an under warranty might as well goto Honda if you clear codes you’ll get your rev match back but if Honda can’t recreate complaint even with warranty you’ll pay the diag. Si if you don’t have a good tool with bidirectional controls a can read freeze frame data yourself don’t touch it goto Honda. If you have proper tools you can live test the hpfp an look at freeze data for each injector. If car ran after lights came on my money is on an injector not a pump if pump faulted it wouldn be jus low pressure it would be 0 an it would have died a non started. So prolly injector an also pull spark plugs an even borescope each bc it could be start of infamous head gasket coolant blow by pusses off injector an it all falls like dominos so goto Honda an make them check it all

Appreciate the input I’ll look into getting a better reader. I did take it in and they said it was because the active exhaust fuse was pulled (I had the valve open) not exactly buying that 100% but at the same time I’ve had the car back and been running it same as before with no issues so perhaps that was indeed the cause.

Weird the valve control causing a lean condition to warrant the low pressure code. Stock ecu is very funny bro I think they are right an here’s why the stock ecu program rly hates certain unmetered air in specific places like you can do an intake sometimes it throws code sometimes it won’t. Look into an autel tablet on Amazon(4-600$ tops)I bought mine bc of stuff like this b4 I got unlocked an flashpro’d. So un metered air will cause it to pull timing which pulls or shortens hpfp pulse which causes your low pressure at rail intermittently this is why you threw code but then drive fine. Also watch any venting to atmosphere conditions or mods that do like a ccv radium kit or HKS ssqv bov without the recirculating kit. Food for thought even if you don’t mod anything else Hondata flashpro is warranty friendly an even sold at dealerships well most of them. It greatly improves the drive ability and capability of the car and you get full diag capability and can use phone to access almost every sensor possible plus it’s literal turn key 50hp an70ftlb tq
