I purchased a MDR intercooler and im
Having issues with the install
It’s keep hitting the impact bar
Has anyone had this problem?
Any help would be appreciated

Did you put back the rubber grummets back in the new intercooler? Did you remove rubber diverter flap both sides on bumper? From the pictures you posted it looks like something is not lining up, did the same intercooler on my fk8 and helped out my buddy with his FL5 and had no issues.

Yes I did
Yes the ones on the inside of the bumper
The new intercooler keeps hit the lower part of the impact bar

Going to remove the under shield that should probably give me more room to put it in and to see if can do it on a lift that would definitely make life easier

You have to go straight back at the perfect angle. I had the same issue with the similar sized PRL intercooler. If the intercooler is tilted at all, then it won’t fit.

I didnt have the "under shield" on when i put mine in, i had 0 issues - tilt the intercooler and fit in just fine.

I had this issue installing my PRL intercooler. It’s a very tight fit. I seem to remember having to use a lot of course language at high volume in order to get it in there.

The MDR intercooler is a beast. It's a tight fit for sure but I didn't have a lot of trouble with it. I'd say just keep fighting with it. :thumbsup:
