I don’t know what’s crazier, the fact that they’re asking for that much, or that KBB lists it as a “Good Price.” :D
It's a double-win for the dealer. They inflate the market to get higher used sales now, while feeding the "well, just look at the value of the used fk8 market!" narrative they'll be tossing in with their 20k ADM on their FL5s. 🤣

Austin,TX at Howdy Honda. The salesman also claimed the other local dealers would be the same or higher
Howdy Honda? there's your 1st red flag lol
Be careful of them claiming things about other dealers...most of the time, it's straight from their ass.

Oh, I know. I've had enough issues there. They're just my most local so I reached out to them first. Can't get worse if I start with them.. lol

I was told by an Austin dealer, "good luck" and "gonna have to be in right place at right time." Wouldn't take my info down because first come, first serve. Said everytime they had a Type R a customer was basically waiting to buy as soon as it was unloaded. Don't wanna give up, but this kinda crap makes me want to! A dealer I was "2nd on list" with since March told me to expect 20k markup last Friday(Honda of Denton). We bought a HR-V there 3 years ago and that's his offer! Told him he could go f* himself!

Supposedly, this dealership walked back on the markup due to Internet pressure.

"It didn't take long for all of that negative light to make it back to the dealership. By Sunday evening, the dealership's general manager chimed in on social media to announce that they'd be lowering the price of all Z06s—including ones already ordered by its customers—to MSRP." - The Drive (article link)

I advise everyone to do the same. First, it feels good. It feels good to tell a scumbag to f* off. Second, dealers need to know that what amounts to a 50pct markup is predatory. Call out dealers on social media and google reviews for this kind of b.s. 5k. 10k. I get it. 20k? Get f'd bud.

I did this with my FL1 when Jeff Wyler tried to screw me and bought one in AZ from a legit dealer.

Lol, ain't not point to it. Time vs money. It is better to just tell them if they become flexible to an amount you're willing to entertain to call you.

It may feel good to tell them to get fucked but it'll feel better to get the damn car at a price you both can live with.
