I was on my way to LA to trade this car in for a new one and hit a rock. Messed up my oil pan and had to pull over. We were in the middle of no where and in the middle of the night.. We ended up getting ahold of a chp to call a tow truck, that didn’t end up coming for 5 hours. Insurance didn’t cover, not sure why.. ended up paying $1,200 for the tow company.
I got it towed back home and left it at the auto shop where they ordered parts to fix it. The day the parts came they were too busy to fix it and that night it was stolen.
They stole it, left it at an elementary school, and burnt it up.😢

That is all very, very crappy in quite a succession. No good breaks for you, at all. Sorry all that happened!

Who is at fault for theft- body shop or you? I don’t even know how that works so I’m genuinely curious.
Thanks, I’m still going through it right now. Haven’t gotten anywhere. The body shop is taking no responsibility though so I don’t see this working out for me.

Well, of course the body shop won’t simply accept responsibility. It is up to your insurance company to pursue their insurance company.

That your insurance company didn’t help with the rock damaging your oil pan is a bit worrying, though. It depends on your policy and who you are insured with. Cheap insurers are definitely more difficult to deal with. I would think that a damaged oil pan would be handled the same way a cracked windshield (from a rock) would be covered…but there’s so much fine print with EVERYTHING. I hope you get it sorted out properly.

Holy cow that’s horrible. I would ask friends or family for a good lawyer. Unless you signed something saying they have no responsibility I can’t see why you can’t get something from their insurance company to ease the pain at least a little. Best of luck

How is insurance refusing? It counts as a theft and generally covered under most policies. I’m so confused. You had full coverage I’m assuming? All this sucks so much.

Was not aware that a 2023 vehicle is that easy to be stollen. Without the key how did they start the engine? I am pretty sure that they didn't use "2 wires" below the steering wheel to start the engine...
So probably they took the key from the body shop.

I am in Florida and the lawyers I have used I would not refer to an enemy. Call the popular ones and ask if they can hear your story. Should not have to pay anything for that. They will take over if interested and then discuss their fee.
