Recently, we had quite the fun with @RV6's new R365 RED Turbocharger for the 11th gen 1.5T, and we just had to share this with you guys.
Featuring dual ceramic ball-bearings, a high flow compressor, and a 9-blade turbine, this twin-scroll 50mm turbocharger is a must-have upgrade for those seeking additional power. While this is a drop-in turbo, we of course wanted to push the limits, and found that it packs quite the punch when tuned on an E30 blend.
The test vehicle was our FBO '23 Si with the following modifications:
PRL High Volume Intake (Standard Bore)
PRL HVI Cold Air Intake Duct
PRL Front Mount Intercooler
PRL Charge Pipe Upgrade
PRL High Volume Intercooler Outlet
PRL Flex Fuel Kit
27WON Honda 4 Bar MAP Sensors*
TSP L15 Head Stud Kit*
DC Sports Front Pipe
DC Sports 22+ Civic Si Exhaust
27WON Catted Downpipe
*We highly recommend including this with your purchase
The Si's maximum output with the factory turbo and E30 blend was 254whp / 308lb-ft.
RV6's R365 brought us up to an easy 281whp / 280lb-ft on 93 octane and a strong 335whp / 301lb-ft on an E30 blend, all while maintaining a torque curve that is much nicer to the factory connecting rods than what we see from the factory turbo.
To say the least, we are once again impressed with the L15.
We have these available to pre-order on our site. RV6 is completing final assembly of these kits and they will be ready to ship before the end of August.
A custom tuning add-on is available for purchase if you want to get the most out of your new turbo.
Thanks to @RV6 for the opportunity to assist with this and also to Derek Robinson at Innovative MotorWorks for yet another great tune.
What are your thoughts on this new turbo and output?
