What’s up everyone ! Just took delivery of my new FL5 ! Loving this car so far.

Few questions.

1. Any local reputable tuners in the NEPA area ?

2. How much power does this stock clutch hold up to ? Is the oem clutch okay with a bolted and tuned FL5 ?

3. I was looking into the Kuro bolt in swap but was curious what kind of power the stock clutch and motor will hold up to ?

Loving this car !

Welcome in!

1. Regarding local tuners for this platform you've got Derek Robinson at Innovative Motor Works Carlisle PA, and Mike Sweeney at 1to1Tuning in Millersville, MD. We also got @Jester04 for solid tuning with support online if in person isn't necessary for you.

2. They are definitely people running 500+ on the oem clutch.

3. Unsure myself, I've seen 500+ but know little of their long term reliability.

Shouldve gotten a Camero SS. Those things make like 650 hp.
😂 I mean its kinda legit when you compare it to the SI which slips with only a basic tune.

No clutch upgrades needed for the mods you want!

The engine holds quite a bit of power reliably.

Welcome!

You are close to some really good mountains and back roads. Get some good suspension and chassis modifications. By the time you get the car sorted and understand what it actually is. The fastest fl5 at the drag strip is still a very slow car lol

Oh for sure . I was gonna go with swift springs and white line rear sway with endlinks.

Has anyone heard of Jamie Marsh ? I’ve heard he is a very reputable tuner out of CT ?

I used to live in NEPA, Evan's tuning is very well known, though that was 4 years ago. Derek at IMW tuning does great job, and he's not too far. Great driving roads up there, but watch out for the deer.

Welcome! Sonic Grey goes really well on these cars :)

We had our FL5 at 430/387 with the Kuro, 27WON DP, and PRL Intercooler - no clutch slip. TSP Corey has tried out 5+ turbo setups, getting close to 550whp on the stock clutch. I did see that Red Star's DE5 clutch gave out at 600whp on a prepped 1/4 mile surface however.

Derek at IMW is your neck of the woods, he's tuned our cars. +1 @Tougefl5 is right about getting some suspension mods on to dial out the hint of factory understeer. But before you do, thrash the stock setup to see for yourself what you feel would work best for you.

IMW is the way to go. You can get your ECU unlocked locally, which makes the process easy, and the TSP Tune was developed by IMW/Derek, so you can't go wrong. Great service by IMW and TSP (Two Step Performance) as well.
