I had to stop reading here LMFAO. It runs a 13.8-13.9 and has roughly the same acceleration as a Toyota Sienna minivan.
According to C&D the FL5 runs a 13.5 at 106. The trap speed is pretty high for this time which shows that once the car is rolling it’s pretty quick.

I'll probably wait a while for new wheels but I'll either go Gram Light 57CR/DRs or Work Emotion T7R or D9Rs. I'm tempted to go white wheels on Champ White but I hear that keeping white wheels clean is an absolute nightmare so I'm leaning bronze currently.
Ceramic coat is your friend, with a good coating they will wash off almost completely clean with just high pressure water.

It’s quick but not what I would call fast.

mbaapk hit the nail on the head. The CTR has nice fairly short gearing paired with a good power band that makes 5k and below brisk driving enjoyable without having to get to lock your ass in jail speeds. It’s fun to row through the gears with its awesome transmission.

Compared to previous cars I own/owned, GT350, C7 Corvette Grand Sport and 392 Challenger, to have fun with those on the street required getting to go to jail speeds. Hell, the GT350 1st gear is 60mph and 2nd gear gets you up to 90mph!!!

CTR is perfect as a ridiculously fun daily!

The capabilities of the car make it feel too fast to be driving on 35-40mph streets. Sorry I guess I should have acknowledged it is actually slower than minivans and only a Civic.

I'm going to do the right thing and go edit my new owner observations to recognize that my car actually sucks and I regret buying it.

Don't do it everyone, don't buy this car.

All you guys with more miles shifting at like 4-5K RPM. I don’t know how you do it! I’m at 450 and waiting till 600 miles for full send but after that I’ll probably redline in multiple gears daily. It’s a Honda! It’s meant to be revved.
Honda dynos this vehicle before it is delivered. They go full send multiple times to make sure it's running solid. I never wait for this break in period. I've owned new cars for the last 15 years. Every single one of them gets full send out of the dealership. Never had any issues. Now, I typically get rid of them around 40-60k miles. But during that ownership never had an issue. So just enjoy it. Do as you please. But I recommend giving it the beans! :D

At this point I'm nearly to 600 miles so it doesn't really matter. Allowing the clutch to break in along with the rest of the engine/transmission isn't going to hurt anything.

I'll report back when I've had the full experience!

Same at 800 for me. Ill pull up to 5k at 1k on the odo and 6k a few hundred miles after that and so on. Then refill with amsoil oil.

Made it a mission to hit 600 miles today and did it!

In the morning I traveled on some curvy roads that I am familiar with and was so impressed by how neutral and planted the car feels in the corners. Even on cold factory tires and 45 degree damp conditions.

Once I crossed the imaginary break in threshold it was a challenge to find dry pavement. I ended up having to go even further out of the way to find an area that wasn't wet. Full send was everything I expected. I was a little surprised how bright the shift lights were during the day!

One new thing I noticed was that it's nice that traction control doesn't stop the fun too early. In the wet at the top of 2nd gear the car is fully spinning both tires and it's letting it happen.

Anyone holding out even after crossing 600 miles should just go for it. It's a Honda and with the factory oil you are plenty safe driving it how they designed it to be driven. I'm in the camp that draining the factory oil too early is probably more detrimental due to the special blend they put for the first fill.

I look forward to reading more impressions from new owners over the coming weeks.

You bring up a good point on the special fill. I left my fl1 until maintenance minder and she gets bad ass mpg now - talking to 40+ regularly. I guess with the fl5 I may go 2-3k now that i think about it - I know others like savage geese oil up earlier - honestly who tf knows what the right thing is.

Its a decently quick car that’s not fast but will get overtaken by family cars. However, the hyperbole is comical.
