Hello Everyone,

I’m excited to join the community as a brand-new owner of a Civic Type R! I picked mine up just last week and managed to score an amazing deal.

Let me just say… WOW. I can’t believe how much fun this car is. It’s honestly unreal. I’ll admit, I was one of thosepeople—"4-cylinder? FWD? No thanks." Over the years, I’ve owned some incredible cars (and still do), but I never thought I’d be having this much fun in a $50k car.

My original plan was to use it as a daily driver, especially for my once a week commute to the office. Plus, I like keeping my co-workers guessing—questions about what I drive always get awkward. But now? I’m completely hooked.

I’ll be honest, when the FK8 first came out, I didn’t even bother looking because of the crazy dealer markups over MSRP. I didn’t give the FL5 much thought either—mostly because of my bias against 4-cylinder FWD cars. But after testing the waters to see if I could even find one near MSRP, I decided to take the leap. And wow, am I glad I did.

Now I’m looking into modding it and would love to safely push it to around 400 WHP. Time to dive into this forum and start learning everything I can.

Looking forward to connecting with you all and getting advice from the pros here!

Not even a little bit? I'm curious about doing some MINOR modifications, nothing crazy. But at the same time I absolutely LOVE how it drives stock, so I'm a little torn. There's "things" I'd like, but I'm not sure what adds value, and what takes value away and I'd hate to make the wrong choice.

Hit up jester if you are needing a tune!
Absolutely. Looking to see if anyone can unlock my ECU locally if not then I'll need to ship it out.
Congratulations enjoy it
Thanks!

I am already going down the rabbit hole. It's nice to see upgrades at somewhat reasonable prices unlike M tax or Amg Tax. Let's not even talk about supercar tax.

Only few hundred miles so far but throughly enjoying it. It definitely needs to be a bit louder though.

I think I want to go a tune and full bolt on route then stop there for a while. Then maybe consider a bigger turbo. Let's see.

The red seats make it that much better! Great color though. I've always been a big fan of blue.

Dude's got Audi R8 money. I'm guessing he's not constrained by costs.
Do you believe having a few bucks is reason to have no concern with finances?
Should I buy a Lamborghini just because I can afford one lol

Nah, I am a working man with an unhealthy fascination with cars. It's a sickness really.

Unhealthy fascination is a good way of putting it. I have a similar problem. We are fortunate to see a lot of these high end cars so my kids all know them by name and shout the names out as we drive around. Little ones need a little more practice recognizing them haha
