I believe I have a similar oil leak. I have a 2025 FL5 with 5.2k miles on the odometer. I took it to a local dealership and had the car inspected. They couldn't identify the exact leak location, but suspect it is the oil pan as well. It seems very similar to @k20.dennis situation with oil on the upper bolts leaking down to the main drain plug.![]()
Mine said the same citing not wanting to waste a good part, which seems fair. Only couple hundred kilometers since my reseal but its holding for now.Update:
Dealer is saying that their field tech has never seen an issue like this before, and will not replace the pan until they just do a reseal. I do not want to open the bottom end of this motor twice if a reseal doesnt fix it. From what you guys are posting, its a casting issue, not a sealant issue.
Gotcha, I authorized them to go ahead with the repair. I will keep you guys posted.Mine said the same citing not wanting to waste a good part, which seems fair. Only couple hundred kilometers since my reseal but its holding for now.
You could always agree to it and request the tech takes a look at the oil pan to see if the casting seems flat/smooth.
My pan was clean at 700 miles when I did my first oil change, but had seepage at 4400 miles for the 2nd oil change, roughly 6 months after purchasing the car.Just for reference if anyone else comes across this, I did my first oil change at 1000 kilometers and it was already seeping. Cleaned it up and then rechecked at 1800 and it was still seeping so they resealed and want to take a look in another 1000. So mine was an issue straight away.
I’ll also check back in when I have more kilometers on it.
