I just watched the YouTube video. Dayum.....
I am very new to track cars, and just bought a FL5. I have my first ever track run scheduled for May 30th at mid Ohio.
I know it will be a complete training run, single file, no passing etc. but this scared the shit out of me. Not sure the track is for me. I thoroughly enjoy this car. And know it is a special car.
I may track, but I am sure I won't push as hard.
Hats off to you, I am glad you are ok, and you have guts.....
The old saying " no guts, no glory " ...
Be safe brother !
Don’t let this put you off. Just take it slow and just keep improving little by little. Always stay within the extent of your ability and you will be fine.

Felt sad initially watching the video but happy to see you have such a positive attitude after a traumatic experience. That alone should be a testament to life for the rest of us. Thanks for all of your transparency providing info for these cars and look forward to you putting down faster times in your next FL5!

You were right on the money! That's easily the scariest part of the track for me, and it's taken a lot of practice to try to go faster through there. Unfortunately this time my cadence was off, and my last steering input was too quick for the state of the traction that I had available in that moment.

Could have been way worst. You did the best you could do. You did well not to over correct and go into the wall on the left side. It would be nice if they put a little gravel pit before the ditch. Grass is unforgiving especially if it was slightly damp from any previous rain over the past few days.

I'm also interested to see how the track insurance process goes. Now I feel a little foolish for not getting coverage for yesterdays track event.

Can't wait to see V2.

I would not even do gravel since it can damage the car. A nice sand trap or something along those lines would work I would think.

I've tried Lockton and Hagerty previously. Never needed to file a claim yet though, but both are reputable.

Holy shit though. Insurance has gone up like 50% wtf LOL. Last year I insured my BRZ for $200 per event. Its $312 now. LMFAO!

Time to start sim racing lol

I’m seriously considering that, It might be cheaper in the long run😂. Just sell all the cars and sim race.

The problem is how I can virtually work too😂.

track insurance is a huge waste of money … until you need it :)

i know someone who used Lockton for a McLaren 570S and they had a great experience. Hoping Ben’s process is smooth!

@PointByPatrol I am curious what you had on for safety gear. Just a helmet and gloves or do you have one of the 3 point belt compatible head & neck restraints?

Glad you are okay and hopefully you can get the car replaced and recover swiftly.
Just had a head sock, helmet, and gloves. I want one of the simpson hybrids, but they are very expensive $1000.00, but trust me, I'll be buying one now!

I use Lockton, and this will be my first ever claim. Future policies will be more expensive because of this claim, but Lockton is a lot cheaper than Hagerty or OpenTrack and they use THE EXACT SAME UNDERWRITER!

I'll keep you guys posted on the track insurance experience. I called the claim in on Sunday, yesterday I received an email stating that my claim is in progress waiting on an adjuster. I should receive a phone call from an adjuster today.

Just received the phone call from Lockton. They're assigning an adjuster today to head out to look at the car. From there I send them the payoff information from my lien holder, and they pay the car off directly.
