Question on JDM sideview mirror caps install for you folks who have them ...

Hi, I have Suma side view mirrors and rear view mirror set ready to be insalled along w the JDM Mirror caps to swap out w the boring Black caps. The tech I am friends with asked me does the mirror need Scalped (removal of the factory black cover) or are the red ones just double sided taped on top of the black covers ? I wasnt sure myself (all the parts are stills ealed in the packaging in my trunk) Thanks.

The OEM JDM red mirror caps are a complete replacement. I've replaced the mirror caps before on my previous Sport touring, I used this video as a guide. Made it really easy, and quicker than the method to remove the mirrors.

ahh.. i deleted my comment bc i thought i misread.

id check the site you bought the caps from and see if they say - or check the package and see if you can feel tabs or if its smooth/has tape - these can be sold either way

this one is a replacement (no tape)
