Hi guys! I am new to this forum. I have been trying to find posts online about this oddity with my FL5 CTR.

When I have the vehicle in R+ or using the R+ display in “personalized” drive mode, I noticed that as the RPM bar fills up and passes by 3,300-3,400rpm it “skips/slightly goes back and forwards.

There is no noticeable interruption in the power band and it’s not noticeable (visually) in the RPM display when using comfort or sport display.

I tried posting a video of it happening and was unable to post it here. Here is a YouTube link:

Anyone else with an FL5 Type R has noticed this?

Thanks guys!

That's right about the time the VTEC changeover happens according to the other thread from today... Could be related

Going from memory, I’ve noticed this in my car as well with the R+ gauge cluster but didn’t give it much thought. Makes sense if it is indeed the VTEC point.

You probably don’t notice it with the other gauge configurations because the tachometers are much smaller and round. The very large R+ tachometer design is just visually “magnifying” a normal, tiny, blip of the VTEC. That’s my theory anyway.

Looks normal to me for a VTEC crossover point.

Side note: if you're in +R, then those RPM's are waaaaaay too low :)
