anyone else deal with roof lining coming off? If I take it to the dealership, will they replace the entire thing? How does that work? Any information will be appreciated. Thanks Fam!

It's difficult to see what you are referencing.
From my angle it looks like maybe that is paint protection film, a clear PPF coming loose...?

When someone says "roof liner", I normally think of the cloth interior ceiling liner. Since you are showing the roof exterior, however, I'm not understanding what you mean.

I believed OP meant the headliner is starting to separate as circled. Honda is taking cost cutting to the edge - literally! They could have just use an extra mm of fabric to prevent this!

I’m sorry for the bad picture.. should have circled in red ink like the post reply below. The liner seems to be coming off due to Honda not using enough roof liner.

I don’t think it has as much to do with cost cutting as much as simply being an out-of-spec part (aka a defect) that made it thru QA checks. Stuff like this will happen now and then. It should definitely be covered under warranty.

So confusing, ammiright?
Too many words with too many meanings.

That's what I was thinking, gasket. Just pop it back in place, if it is. I did that today on some of my door seals.

Looks like it's just right under the weather strip. OP may be able to "stretch" the weather strip a bit to see if it can be tucked back in place? Either way, look like there isn't enough fabric material on the headliner itself.

That’s what it looks like to me. The fabric isn’t properly wrapping the headliner. Stretching the weather strip over it might help hide the issue temporarily, but it isn’t a fix. I’d have the headliner replaced under warranty. It’s a defect and it will only get worse with heat and humidity.

Oooooohhhh... now I see it! Dang.

Dude, I had to put on my 2X glasses and zoom super into the photo in order to see that @dminusBird really is talking about the ceiling / roof liner!
My mistake, dminusBird!

Also, I thought the white bits were just excess wax or something. Didn't give it much thought.

The photo is just blurry enough to make the fabric and the rubber blend together into each other.
Up until now, all I could see was the rubber gasket, so I was all like, "What roof lining?"

Shit, time for an eye exam.
