Hello all.

Anyone on here know which filter tool works with RTA filters?

I heard that the factory tool doesn't grip it (?) Sounds suspicious, but the guy who told me this is a boss in my eyes and a king to my heart, so I believed him. Is he making an anus of me?

For S2000's, there is a Lisle tool which works better than OEM.

Is there something like this for the RTA filter?

I'm talking about the tool mentioned in the photo below. I would like to use it to torque the filter.

Thanks!

How many flutes? Or does any 65mm tool have the same amount?
I don't know off the top of my head, don't you have the filters on hand? You should be able to count it on the filters or look it up.

I mean...true. But couldn't you just look it up and tell me? That way we'd both know.
I'm not the one that needs a tool to change their oil filter. I already have one. Good luck.

Are you using the tool to tighten or remove? If it's removal, I ended up buying one of those jaw-esque filter tools.

If it's tightening then good luck lol, I went through like 3 before giving up. Luckily I have a friend who had the right part. We actually tested of the amount of turns on the filter (3 and 3/4? I forget what the side says) was correct for the specified torque, and it was pretty close if you do it by hand. So there's always that option.

I've used a rubber strap wrench on every filter in the last 20 years.... Maybe takes 10 more seconds to use, but it's likely in the same position from last time, is one piece to find in the box, and always works.

Also, the instructions include turn by number, and markers are on the filter body. You can calibrate you clean dry hand tight by that. If you actually use a wrench, you're more likely to overtightened it because of how not tight it is by wrench.

You could just use a rubber bungee cord to honestly. I've done it before when the dealership put the filter on to tight to get it off with my hands.
