Spoon floor brace with mounts for 4 point harness safe?

Hey all, does anyone have the spoon floor brace for harness hook up? I track my car and I’m getting a little fatigued holding myself in place. I love the oem seats and want to retain them for now, but is running a harness off the spoon floor brace safe? They have the mounting points, but everything I’ve seen people use a cage or roll bar to hold the shoulder straps too. I’ve attached the link. Bonus point if someone has pictures with harness installed

10000% not safe to mount shoulder straps to the floor.

Always refer to FIA standards for harness mounting. It specifies recommended strap angles and method of mounting/anchoring.

Thats everything ive seen too and thats why I was questioning why spoon even has a product for this. Unless I'm misinterpreting it, which is possible

Spoon is a Japanese "tuner" brand, and Japanese "tuner" brands traditionally have never taken driver safety very seriously. The Cusco safety 21 cages all fall short of FIA cage standards in terms of tube sizing, thickness, and number of allowable bends.

Just cause it's Japanese doesn't mean it can't sometimes be trash

I agree haha I actually think im misinterpreting it. Maybe its only for the waist portion of the harness not the shoulders. the 2 hold in the middle can be mounting points for the 6 point and the 2 on the sides are for a 4 point but not meant for shoulders maybe?? Idk lol I really dont want to put a cage in cuz its not a dedicated track car (yet). I need to be able to use my back seats for my son when we go to cars and coffee. I saw Ballad makes a harness bar for the fk8, but still nothing for the fl5. Any recommendations?

I am of the opinion that a full harness is only truly safe if used in conjunction with a frontal head restraint (hans or similar), and be tied in with at least a half cage.

If you're just wanting to be better supported while negotiating lateral forces just run a better fitting seat that matches your build/body shape with the OEM seat belts IMO.

Yea, I'm also drawing that conclusion. I've seen universal harness bars out there, but I'm hesitant. Last thing I want is to fail tech at the track

I have the brace and it's meant only for lap belt and crotch belt. Shoulder belts I have running to the rear seat belt points. I've seen people definitely use these stlye of brace/brackets the wrong way and it hurts to see it.
