There will be no "Stage 2" for anything other than FlexFuel cars.
Looking forward to your FlexFuel Stage 2 tune. I hope you have it released by January as I plan to upgrade my clutch to the Spec steel flywheel Stage 2 combo that TSP says will be out soon.

I don't know the specs but larger air volume moves slower. Could cause lag and possibly loss of boost with a stock turbo if not sized correctly
A while back someone, or some article, suggested the upgraded FMIC would make an excellent first mod. Coming from the WRX side of things I can remember more than a few people who made a large FMIC one of their first modifications and then went on to complain about increased lag. Hell, I bought an STI TMIC from one of them. That TMIC stayed on my WRX until it was making over 350whp, then finally swapped to a FMIC.

The way I see it, upgrade path should be - ktuner, intake (either PRL CAI or Stage 1 with drop in), downpipe, frontpipe, clutch, turbo+FMIC. Sorry to leave Hondata out, but the ktuner v1.2 is just a superior product at a much more competitive price point.

The TSP Stage 1 is as aggressive as I'm giving the public on pump gas. Cars with upgraded exhaust parts make more power naturally since they flow more air, even with the same tune file.

Custom tuning over the TSP Stage 1 depends on the modifications, the quality of your fuel, and how sensitive the knock sensor is, in my experience.

I would say downpipe. That is next on my list anyways. I have intake and TSP tune. looking for a good dp/fp/exhaust package now. Nature will force me to upgrade clutch eventually after those items.

A dp/fp with install and cost you about $1000. That would give you 5 to 10 hp. The intercooler with install would cost you about $1000. That would give you about 5 to 10 hp. Both together 10 to 15 hp. A clutch, flex fuel and custom tune would probably add 20 to 25 hp and cost $2k. Just ballpark numbers here.

Paid 169 for my Redline360 2.5” Dp/FP with eBay coupon and install is very straight forward. Total cost for me was under 250 Including doing a Hasport Mount at the same time I bought off of here used.... not sure where you are getting 1k...

Dump in some E85 and edit yur timing and fuel trim. It's free and brings a big smile

Most quality dp/fp run $600 to $800. Labor adds more money. As I said that was ballpark figures.

$2000 what?
Clutch $450 or so. Install clutch $600 or more. Flex Fuel P&P kit $450 and install $250 or so. Custom flex fuel tune $400.

Has anyone complained about lag with an upgraded intercooler? While the abscence of complaints doesn’t mean there isn’t any lag at all, it’s a pretty good indicator that it isn’t noticeable.

As I understand, the 1.5T tuning logic is a torque-based MAP configuration. In this logic the throttle blade, MAP and boost controller are all used in tandem (with checks to IAT aka post intercooler temps) to create torque. In other words, the ECU targets torque, not boost - this type of tuning logic is a lot more consistent. So, to add to that consistency you ensure that post intercooler temps are consistent.

This all relates to the “fill/lag” time by virtue of the tuning logic. Believe it or not, the ECU is bleeding off boost to keep the turbo from spooling too quickly - see Ktuner ramping options. The ECU is expecting X torque via inputs in X conditions and if the intercooler is larger and fill time is increased, the ECU will either slightly close the throttle or allow a little more boost to achieve X torque under X conditions.
