Whenever I get a car wash (touchless of course!) the rear wing drips a bunch of water on the passenger side rear hatch and quarter panel. Sometimes it'll be a few hours after the car is fully dry, I'll open the hatch, and water streams out of the wing.

Anyone else having this issue? Can't figure out where it's coming from on the wing itself. I thought at first it was washer fluid but that doesn't seem to be the problem, I think it's coming from the wing itself.

I have the HPD wing and have never noticed this problem. Afaik the CTR wing is made up of a few solid pieces, so if there's water getting trapped somewhere your best bet would be to check bolts/cavities.

Didn't realize it was multi-piece. I'll go check that out. Maybe this is my sign to upgrade to the CF rear wing!

The wing itself is a single piece, but the other parts where it connects is what I meant.

it could be that the mounting points on the hatch aren't properly sealed so water gets stuck there. In the case of the HPD wing, they actually take out a decently sized chunk of the hatch to drill and mount the wing.

Like Cueyo said, I would check all the connection point bolts. I don't know for sure but I would assume there is some type of gasket between the mounting base and the hatch body. Normally this is water tight, either the bolts are loose or the gasket is damaged. I would also check for water ingress into the interior of the hatch at the wing mounting bolts.

Just adding that I have never experienced leaking like this from the wing area after a wash.

I could be wrong, but I could have sworn I saw a drain hole underneath. Is it coming from that?

I don’t think it’s a one piece wing. There’s some sort of seam hidden along the bottom that holds a ton of water. I think the hatch & tail lights also hold a ton of water. Most of my drying efforts are back in the hatch. And it never fails to leak more water even hours after it was washed.

Since I recently took off the OEM wing and stands, I can confirm that it is 3 pieces. The wing and 2 stands. The stand itself underneath is beveled. It sits in this long rectangular slot, rounded on each end. It is secured by 3 10mm bolts. I can see that some water can seep into the slot and drain to the hatch. There is no rubber seal to prevent water running through. I imagine it does prevent a flood in the trunk but some water will go through.

Do you think a little silicone sealant would make a difference in the long rectangular slot you mentioned? Basically, to seal the bolt holes a little better?
