does it block the radiator, yes, to what extent does it affect temps is another thing.

on my VW Golf R, the intercooler was sandwiched between the AC condenser and Radiator. so basically the entire intercooler blocks the radiator. I upgraded both and never had any temp issues on track.

To be fair it is also relatively thin. It's probably going to be the most efficient intercooler for charge air temps with less pressure drop than the stock intercooler, and it's not bar and plate so it's not blocking all of the air bc of the tube and fin design. It is in front of most of the radiator but it should allow the air to pass through easier than a B&P. It's 2.39" wide vs 2.53" stock and 7. Something inches for the bar and plate intercoolers out there. I will do some testing soon.

i was looking side by side their FK8 offering (which is the smaller design), and the ambients are definitely higher on the FK8 graph, but the FL5 IAT was rock steady throughout, so the bigger seems to definitely heat soak less as well.

so I considered all my options and I will hopefully use it on track
  • RV6 keeping moving their release date
  • HKS is unknown when you will actually get it
  • PWR is out of my price range
  • Wagner
    • brackets not US bolt-on
    • in front of the radiator
    • weight
    • coming from Euro world, Wagner is highly regarded
  • PRL is a no go
I ended up ordering the Wagner today and it's already been shipped. We'll see how it goes.

That's pretty much where I was. I started to wait on the rv6. But decided to go with the Wagner. I believe they knew what they were doing and it's their competition line. So hopefully they tested how it affects the radiator.

i was I would like to think constant contact with RV6, and offered to even pre-order it, and they were like no. then they were like it's here getting coated, everything else is here, and then 2 weeks later they are like we are trying a different color option. Of course, tomorrow it'll be available as that is how it goes with my luck.

so as they went around and around, and March is here, I was like let's go with the Wagner. I blame you for talking me into it :p

I should have a bracket solution for you soon too. I'm about to drill them now. But I might need to take them to work tomorrow as I don't have the plethora of tools at my house like I do at the shop.

Update. I have been working with Wagner and @Unity Performance , had a couple design options, and decided on one. I submitted it to them. Works great on my car and it doesn't look like something home made. Hopefully they'll have it available for production soon.

Looking forward to buy one, since i have drilled 2 hold in the front bar to fit the original brackets.
But there is a strange vibration sound.

Update- Wagner has finally settled on one of my designs for the intercooler brackets. So if you have one hit them up to get your brackets. Anyone that's been on the fence bc of the bracket situation, it's good to go.

Wherever it's sold. Wagner should send you the brackets as a separate package as it just got verified it fits today on my car. I got mine from @Unity Performance and they have great pricing and service. He also connected me with them to get this resolved. So props to him.
