100% agree. The lip looks really good but mine lasted like 2 weeks. Mine actually looked good out of the box but it would get big chips in it if you looked at it wrong. To be somewhat fair, the entry to my work's parking lot is not good for lips/lowered cars. I think I may have to make peace with never adding a lip.Aeroflow Dynamics lip out the box chipped and scratched up. Waited to hear back from them, no answer, so just letting you know, you get what you pay for.

Agreed. This will look good with 19s imo tho.Adro Inc is working on a lip kit and diffuser for the FL5. Looks a tad bulky but it’s still design phase.
This really comes down to want you prioritize, are the looks more important than the performance? Is your car lowered? personally, I wouldn’t put any lip kit on until I lowered the car. It’s the very reason I haven't put on my Garage Unique front lip yet even though I’ve had it sitting for over a year.So I’ve got a line on a Mugen front lip, side skirts, and rear under spoiler for about $2,300, but I’m having a hard time pulling the trigger even though I’ve been eyeing them for a while now… someone help me decide.
- Personally, I feel like Mugen or Spoon are the only manufacturers with aero pieces which require drilling/cutting that will be positive or neutral to the value of the car long term. Unfortunately, they’re also likely to be some of the most expensive.
- I think my car could make it in/out of my driveway with the lip, it’ll be close, but there’s a lot of talk about lips being fairly sacrificial. If I don’t lose it to my driveway, what’ll it be? A parking stopper? A curb?
- I love the idea/look of a front lip, and like the Mugen brand… but it doesn’t seem like the car will have a cohesive look without the side skirts and rear under spoiler too. I like things matcha-matchy. If you do it, do it all the way, ya know?
- Stock, I don’t think the car’s hurting for bigger side skirts or rear skirts, but do one thing, gotta do them all… then how long until I want the wing too?
- If I don’t get any of it, there’s nothing to mess up, no holes to drill, and $2300 can go pretty far in basic performance parts to compliment the Hondata tune: PRL HVI + turbo inlet, maybe a TSP down pipe, and bigger intercooler.
So? Strangers of the internet? What’s the right call? Buy Mugen? Or buy some bolt-ons to get movin’?
I believe the rarity of Mugen Del Sol parts has me feeling some serious FOMO. lolThese parts aren’t going anywhere.
I think everything I’ve done to the car so far suggests looks are more important than anything. This really comes down to want you prioritize, are the looks more important than the performance? You’re right $2300 does go along way towards performance. At that point you gotta ask yourself, do I need more horsepower right now? I’m satisfied with the power my car currently(Hondata 93 octane tune) has so I’d lower the car and put the kit on.
I'm thinking about getting the Mugen front lip too. Only spoiler I can find, that I can get away without drilling. I kind of agree without the sides and rear it won't have that cohesive look. I don't plan on lowering my car. Here's a couple of pics I found on Twitter/X.So I’ve got a line on a Mugen front lip, side skirts, and rear under spoiler for about $2,300, but I’m having a hard time pulling the trigger even though I’ve been eyeing them for a while now… someone help me decide.

Well those cement it for me... ya can't buy the lip and not the rest. No way.I'm thinking about getting the Mugen front lip too. Only spoiler I can find, that I can get away without drilling.
I'm still debating on just the front lip only. I really don't want to cut the sides. Check out the Aimgain front lip it looks clean.Well those cement it for me... ya can't buy the lip and not the rest. No way.
Perhaps I just know too much, but I see that and can't overlook what's missing and think (respectfully, of course), "Ah... we didn't budget for the rest, did we?"
Very helpful! Though I'll tell you, buying a lip that you can install without drilling is a little silly if you need the side skirts which can't be installed without cutting away at the body with an angle grinder, am I right?![]()
Oh I hate the idea of cutting the sides, but I might hate a non-Mugen or Spoon kit more, personally. I'm a fanboy though, I'll admit it.I'm still debating on just the front lip only. I really don't want to cut the sides. Check out the Aimgain front lip it looks clean.
I agree. Once you see the photos it's clear: you can't run the front lip without the other pieces. The lip is too large and angular and resembles none of the factory aero pieces. Once you see it, you expect to see other pieces like it, and you don't.Well those cement it for me... ya can't buy the lip and not the rest. No way.
