Honda and Toyota have been copying each other since the 80's at least. Same can be said for Ford, GM, Chrysler/Dodge and every other auto maker.

You are right , since I have my new Civic I saw many cars with hexagons front gril .

On the other hand, the “big mouth” seems to have been copied from Toyota, which has had it for several years.
A big lack of originality on Honda's part, in my opinion.
