Had my FL5 done, very slight difference. Seems a little more lighter turning the wheel. Call the service advisor to claim the part first, then go to the dealer.

Just got the call from HONDA. Finally got the parts in to do the work. Scheduled for next week

When I first called, the dealer said 'No parts yet', but I called later and said that the steering was really bad (it was).
They scheduled me for two days out.
If you're getting the 'no parts' story, and you don't like the feeling, tell them about it.

Had mine done, two hours later and the steering is noticeably lighter at slow speeds. And lighter at all speeds, really.

I have had my car since June of 24 and have a whopping 633 miles on the ODO. If I drove more I would have complained more. We drive my wifes AMG in the crappy weather months so all good.

Update on this. Drove the car more on all driving modes and noticed the steering feel is noticeably lighter on stiffest setting.
Much lighter! I have my steering set to R mode now and it's very light compared to prior to the recall repair. Nonetheless, it's effortless now and more enjoyable as the wheel returns to center on its own since the fix.

Mine was fixed and I have had no issues since. It seems to be fine now and I was getting the sticky steering especially during steady state hwy. cruising ...

I guess it wasn’t normal since new. I just figured R mode setting made the steering wheel super stiff lol

I must say it feels better now. Much more balanced and not tiresome to control

I’m extremely disappointed to hear that the Honda steering debacle continues. I was going to buy a 2025 CTR today, but I think I’m going to hold off. I had a ā€˜23 CRV with the problem and had the rack replaced at 5,000 miles and it was back at 10,000. Traded it off sick of the headaches. I can’t believe Honda has done this to themselves and very, very stubbornly limped along with bandaids that don’t work. There’s no reason to believe the latest ā€œfixā€ will last. In fact all of the fixes since this started in 2017-2018 Civic models have not been fixes at all. Here we are 8 years later still talking about steering recalls. Pitiful and very disappointing.

Do you wonder about premature wear if it was stiff and adding lube fixes it? Seems sketch as hell to me, especially years down the road.

You realize that most people with type Rs don’t have any issues with this right?

You can discount the obvious and sweep it under the rug, but it is ridiculous that the steering issues continue.

I’ve had 80/11/14/18/20 Si coupes, 19 CTR, 09/17 V6 Accord coupes, 23 CRV. I’ve got more skin in the Honda game than 95% on this forum will have in their lifetimes. My complaint is legit and valid. Honda has damaged their reputation unnecessarily with this steering debacle and I stand by my opinion. After 8 years of this and the recall is to squirt more lube in a hole? Come on. And to say maybe it’s other cars because most CTR owners don’t have the issue? Actually many people have the issue and don’t know it, and it’s the rack design, not the car model. Any Honda with this rack design has problems, or will at some point. Normally a sensible person would say Honda will fix it and roll with it, but after 8 years it continues and what happens after warranty is up? $$$$ over and over apparently.

Letting this go on and on year after year is by far the biggest mistake Honda has made since coming to the US. Even my brother in law who is 60 and only driven Honda his entire life has switched to a Toyota over his 2023 Civic’s unending steering issues. I owned a 2021 Toyota and never again so it’s not an option for me other than a fake Toyota that’s really a Subaru.

Reminds me of ā€œmore cowbellā€. ā€œMore lube!ā€ I hope squirting more lube works, but they’ve known there’s a lube problem for years and if more lube worked, the problem would be gone.
