I hate the concept of these drag race videos but I always watch them. Glad the FL5 is featured in yet another one. Thanks for sharing @administrator .

Good to see the CTR walk away from the Elantra N. Not surprised the Z smashed it.

Not a fan. The results would have been clearly the same with a spec sheet comparison. The revving at the beginning of each car was way too long and made me want to turn it off immediately. Maybe I'm just getting old...

And yet every 20 something with an audi seems to want to dig race. I just shake my head.

When I watched it all I could think is how terrible must the Z be at launching to lose so hard to a CTR through 1st? Better tires would help as they mention.

These vids are just for fun and I don’t take them seriously at all. It’s not like these are carefully controlled races. Dudes are on walkie talkies like they camped out in the back yard together the night before and talked about girls and video games. Then they raced their dirt bikes, I mean cars, the next day.🤣

I love what Hyundai did with the Elantra N performance offering. I know it is ugly but at least we can agree that is the best bang for the buck.
The CTR isn't much better when considering the real-world cost difference. What I mean is that the additional $$$ doesn't translate to a substantial performance difference.

The additional $$$ isn't just for track performance though. The CTR is better at many other things, which is what you are paying some of that extra $$$ for.

Performance is just one parameter and isn’t the only area that makes the CTR cost more. It’s simply a nicer overall car…as it should be. Honda has been doing this for decades, though Hyundai has really caught up over the last 5-6 years-ish. I remember when people used to buy the Elantra because it was SUPER cheap transportation with a great warranty (10 yrs / 100k miles iirc). This is very similar to how Toyota and Honda started out in the US market.

Exactly. Honda has been doing this 'R' thing for a while and have shown to improve on the outgoing each time. Hyundai's N or whatever is unknown to me, but I don't think it has that kind of lineage. I've been away from Hondas since 2002 with my EP3 and got into German cars, but I'll tell you this FL5 has got me super excited and got me to jump back into a Honda. I have yet to see one in person, but I'm stoked to sign for mine next week. The N is just another econobox to me...emphasize TO ME.

Valid points if the FL5 could be bought @ MSRP.
In reality that isn't the case.
Yesterday I stopped in a Dealership in Naples FL to see a FL5 that was listed online.
They said it was already sold. Wife asked for how much. The salesman replied $65K.

Seriously do you all believe that the CTR is $15K+ better than an Elantra N.

You know isn't
