"An affordable titanium exhaust that is decently made" is a paradoxical concept. Titanium is inherently expensive, and there’s no magic way around that. The material itself costs a lot more than corrosion resistant stainless steel, with different grades (quality) and then you have specialized welding, tooling, and low production volumes adding even more to the price. That’s why you don’t see budget Ti systems like you do with SS catbacks.
Don’t forget the ten million pie cuts that have to be welded too😂

that adds labor and cost

being poor sucks. I wouldn’t mind a full titanium exhaust that didn’t cost an arm and a leg

Man I just a want an affordable titanium exhaust that is decently made and isn't a rattle can, is that so hard to ask? I'm looking to make my performance car better at performing, not add 40lbs in stainless steel just so that it rusts a little slower
One day bro. I’ll be president. I’ll put two titanium exhaust under each car! 😂

Titanium exhausts are also more brittle compared to the SS counterparts. The sound resonance is awesome though.
Agreed on both parts

it’s a metal that doesn’t like to yield or bend or expand any. Not a great material for exhausts but man it does make for a nice hollow type sound. There’s nothing like it.

There’s this story

so there was a sr71 that got stuck going a hair over mach3. Allegedly. The pilot could not decelerate at all. Allegedly. Co pilot had to reboot a thing. Some kind of system. Allegedly. Eventually after the reboot the pilot was able to decelerate. Allegedly. They were ordered to return and land asap. Lockheed had to redo the whole titanium exterior bits. They were beyond damaged. And the radar absorbent paint was heavily scorched. It’s said the plane hit Mach 3.2 with after burner and somehow held it for a hair over a minute. Others say it was Mach 3.3 and 3.4. Some say 30 seconds. Others say 45

@apl360 My installer said the same as far as being brittle and cracking. He liked my Remark SS much better and said I made the better choice as I was on the fence with the Ti system. Although many jump up and down violently swearing they will never crack 😆
I must say I never had titanium headers crack on any of my Race bikes. Much hotter but also a shorter difference and slightly thicker to I would think.

It takes a while. My brother had the Cobb catback on his sti. The titanium one. The exhaust has been on the car about 80-85k miles now. I’d agree with that. If I could get 5-6 years of a sweet titanium hollow sound out of my exhaust. And if I could afford it. I’d do it

there’s some folks who won’t even take their r’s out in the snow/winter. I bet they can easily hit well over a decade on a titanium unit

My Type R never saw rain 👊🏻💪
But then again it rarely rains in SoCal and when it does I drove my 2006 CRV with only 16000 mile😳
I guess for me it was spending the 2200 minimum or up to 4000 and always wondering when or if it was going to crack. If money was no object I wouldn’t of hesitated but I have beer breath and Champagne taste 😆

That would be a deal breaker for me to ! That looks so tacky and cheap I wouldn’t care how good it sounded or the price if the tips protruded too far. That and every time you got something out of the hatch after a drive you have to worry about getting two donuts branded on your shins 😬

Boost logic, made in the USA , lightest exhaust on the market, titanium very high quality. Sounds good, really woke up the car with the sound. Also Unique not many ppl run it.

I think it might be better to say that I want a titanium exhaust thats identical to stock with the weight savings and a price that reflects that (since I've read here that the stock exhaust isn't really a restriction). Nothing like $8k, but 3-6k varying on quality I think is a fair price.

Hmmm, I wonder why it's so cheap? Is tomei a reputable brand?

Edit: just read the reviews, apparently poor quality
