what I don't get is Why tf is there an embargo on the driving impressions of a car that is already being delivered to people since almost two weeks ago... ?
I agree. I like the type R, but whoever their PR team is seems dumb as all hell. Or whoever is over them, is Jesus the car is out customers have them, Honda unless you crush my FL5 before I receive it, stop the embargo madness, it's just dumb AF. I thought video game, software and tech companies acted like clowns with their embargoes and release events and what not, first time seeing what happens from the customer-side of a new car launch and consider me (and I imagine the other members of the forum) not impressed Honda. Get your shit together. It's 2022 I called Honda Customer Service and they have no clue where my car is even after giving them the VIN.... it's in the states. Since the dealer shows it in transit, but lord that's so vague. Any sorry for the rant but it's ridiculous how we can track virtually almost any good but not a 50K plus car??? LMAO!

The other odd thing is that Throttle House was able to drive drive it and present some feedback (and that other channel as well, but I didn't make it far enough into the video to see if they actually did drive the vehicle). It seems a bit unfair to the other media channels out there
Two different events, two different tracks. The throttle house video was in Texas. This is in California. They probably had different NDAs to sign

I tracked my pizza a few years ago when I ordered from Domino's; that was fun ?
Yep, can track my papa johns but no idea when a $50k car is going to arrive. The VIN map shows deliveries have only made it as far as Utah and have remained unchanged for days. We call this a good old fashioned cluster.

Starting to think my dealer was bang on right when he said they had halted deliveries to make them arrive all at once on the east coast. There's no reason it wouldnt be a steady march across the map if it was just "when it arrives." This has to be planned in some way.

Possible. I will chalk it up to a combination of being tone deaf and incompetent until we find out otherwise. Progress lifts spirits, silence breeds contempt.

It could be worse. Check out the GRC forums.
Or, for real nightmare fuel, check out the Bronco Raptor forums where they had to ban talk of ADMs for a bit (dont know if they still do).

Whenever you think about these things, like all car companies, remember that the leadership is often VERY out of touch with modern tracking/consumers. So, a lot of things depend on how much they trust their marketing team.

Lol, how do they manage banning talk of adm’s? I honestly think someone should take it to the press. Free PR for Honda - sunlight is the best medicine.

I havent checked in a hot minute, but for a bit there Bronco Raptor ADMs were gonna be well over 30k. People were looking at close to double MSRP. So some of the forums literally had to ban threads on it because it's all anyone discussed.

Wow! At double Msrp it kind of commands that kind of attention. Im sure some outlet would love to know about the $20k-$30k adms though.

So I just checked, the base MSRP on a '22 Raptor was ~$70,000. Currently used ones (Specifically the RAPTOR trim) with low milage are going for well over $100k. I saw one for less and it was "pending sale."

Someone out West should do us a solid and go check on the Richmond Port and see how many cars are still sitting there.

This is like the equivalent of the bullshit embargos that video game publishers do where the game goes on sale but reviews are limited. Cyberpunk 2077 is the most recent one that did that
