Won't get it for much less than $57.5k OTD in South Florida
@AspecR-any word on Oregon or Washington getting any cars? Oregon got first wave, about 10 cars, and nothing since! At this point I may need to look out-of-state! Thanks!

We’re at the point now where quite a few places won’t be seeing anymore til the next model year. The big markets will continue to get but other places won’t see any. The dealer I got mine from isn’t getting another til next year.

So do all dealers know how many they’re getting before year end? If I DM’d you a specific dealer would you be able to tell me if they’re getting any. Thanks!

They do have an idea of how much they’re getting, but it can change at any time based on their historic civic sales and sell through rate.

Yea DM the state you wanna know about and let you know what they’re getting

I remember as the November reviews were rolling in from several popular YouTube channels the reviewers were saying the Type R wasnt worth ADM that put it at $50k.

Well after owning it for approximately 6 months I can honestly say they are all dead wrong, it very much is.
I‘ve owned a 2016 GT350, 2019 Challenger Widebody Scat Pack, 2021 Alfa Giulia, and 2019 C7 Grandsport and this 2023 Type R is as much fun as the GT350 and C7 Grandsport yet costs less WITH ADM.

It’s quite easy for the reviewers to say it’s not worth more than MSRP because all they have to do is make a call and get it for MSRP.

People fail to take into account that in other parts of the world, the MSRP is far greater than here. For example, in my home country the MSRP is $86,745 USD. Would any of you pay that? Absolutely not but guess what. All 13 of the first batch my country received sold out before they came of the ship. With second batch orders filling up and the second batch won’t arrive for another 3-4 months. Even if you’re opposed to paying ADM for the FL5 the recent release of the Integra Type S MSRP proves that the FL5 is priced fairly even with a modest ADM.

From what I’ve seen, for most owners of FL5s, it tends to be the cheapest car in their garage or at the very least they’ve owned more expensive cars before it and have “downgraded.”

TL : DR - The FL5 is worth what the market is willing to pay and overwhelmingly those numbers are higher than the MSRP.

Does this still seem excessive to you guys? They originally wanted 64k otd but was able to come down to 59k. Of course this is mainly because they lowered the profit percentage on the accessories. Ideally going to try and see if theyre willing to come down a little bit more as my only other option is waiting for an autonation allocation for 5k adm which puts me at 55/56k OTD but no accessories.

At least in this instance I would walk away with something? Even though it does suck paying a 300-400% mark up on said accessories.

At the beginning of all production, i (happily) walked from an offer of 61k -- thinking it way too outrageous. My deal was 56k OTD. Now, after being spoiled by sitting in the CTR and driving it, i keep wondering what i might do if i were in the place where many of you are... just trying to get any deal you can justify.

there are 3 issues that are critical to your decision...

1) not feeding into the greed of the market right now... the more that people break down and buy high... the more it encourages the dealers to keep the prices inflated

2) making sure you don't over-spend your budget

3) making sure you don't miss out totally

it's a balancing act.

I'm fairly sure that no matter what, if i were in your situation... i would be on the phone every chance i had looking for a dealer who isn't already on an allocation list, and I would also be going in-person to talk to and get to know all the sales reps within driving distance. And, i would talk to whatever sales managers i could get to -- since they are where the buck stops.

Most importantly, i would be watching the sales numbers as closely as possible to determine if the prices are changing and how fast they sell.

You probably have already done all that since you are already this close to a deal. If you feel they won't sell if you don't buy... you could wait it out a week and see if they soften, but FOMO is very strong on a product like this for good reason. We're already halfway through a year's release and so many people still haven't been able to get one at even a reasonable mark up. sigh.

OH YAH.... forgot to mention... it really helped me to walk away (and not try harder to bargain) when the car with the high ADM was not my first or second choice color LOL
