Brake pads ?

I use Paragon P3 front pads for street and track day purposes. Stock rear pads. Had 3 days of track day. Felt slight fade towards the end of a 30 min session but overall pretty good.

Why didn't you change the rear pads too? How's the brake dust of the P3? Any squealing?

I have the SR11 liek swvich. Really like them so far, strong bite, they do make a little noise at stops but not that bad (less than paragon R5). they are dead easy to bed so to me I would pick these over paragon all day long if you are going to track them. Cheap too and apparently long lasting.

I am about to put my front paragon R5 for sale with tons of meat still if someone wants to try em out for cheap. PM me

I didn’t change the rear because @Jester04 runs the same setup and says it’s sufficient for track days. So I gave it a try. And found out, it is. Very rarely will I hear a very soft squealing from the front pads. It is faint and not very often. Dust is low compared to other pads I’ve used.

Gotcha. At this point I am not planning any track days. However, I would love to change the pads to something with reduced dust.

I'm running Dixcel pads. They offer a more aggressive Z pad and a street M pad. I like the z pads extra bite up front.

If you're a what I like to call "in between driver" spirited and street 1 track day a year kind of driver, you don't have to get a matching set for the rears and fronts. The rear brakes don't exactly help you stop, they do way more stabilizing and hill parking more than anything. Most of the stopping bite you feel is from the Front Pads so what I usually suggest is a nice daily pad in the rear and a nice hard compound in the front. The front pads are so easy to swap out.

Someone on the forums claimed the stock pads are rebranded Ferodo DS2500 pads. I've run DS2500 pads for years on my former track Evo 8 and found them to be very capable on the track and acceptable on the street. I stopped switching pads between street & track once I found the DS2500s were fine in warm weather (don't run pads needing/expecting heat when temps dip below 40F - lol). I parked the Evo in late fall and brought it back out late spring; plan is the same for my CTR. I'm planning on just running DS2500s on the CTR.

As far as Paragon pads, I read someone having an issue at the track with the R3 compound. Sounded like the pad material couldn't take the heat and started to melt, resulting in uneven pad material transfer to the rotor face. Many times people mistake this judder for warped rotors, as it has similiar signs.

This is correct as you improve as a driver and get faster the requirements for brakes will increase.

you can buy oem pads. Fronts are made by Brembo, don't remember what the rears are but they are available

Yes they are. Recommended to me by a few members here, also did some research and saw some good reviews on mustang and corvette forums and so give them a shot and I am impressed
