So just an fyi for anyone planning on ordering the bolster protectors if you are in the US. The initial cost of shipping was pretty steep, around $50. I get it international shipping is and can be expensive, but I got hit with a notification on my UPS account that I had to pay additional fees/taxes for my package because of tariffs and the removal of the de minimis exemption.

I had to pay 45.63 ................before they deliver it to me today.

Ironically enough, I was running a similar experience of the leftside driver seat wearing down after only 2 months of ownership. I contacted my dealer, then Honda Corporate to file an official claim. A month or so later, Honda Corporate covered the replacement of the bolster and installation ($1000+ total cost). Overall, they did a phenomenal job on the installation. Now I'm just being more mindful getting in and out, which I was already. Cost of having red seats.

Yep. Been thinking about ordering stuff too, but knew this was a thing now. Thanks for showing us a real world example. So, now I wait for this tariff ridiculousness to go away while regretting dragging my feet for months.😅 Maybe some crafty folks in the US will come up with some cool accessories in the meantime.

I saw that member Clark Kent posted an Amazon link to a basic black Terry cloth seat cover, which was around 20$ or so. After reading much of his input here on the forum, I valued his suggestion. I bought one (only for driver side) and have been really satisfied with it.

I look under the cover often to see if it is causing any unnecessary wear to the seat/bolster, and it hasn’t. Being black, it easily shows the little amounts of crap that your clothing tracks into the seat that would be ground into the OEM red alcantara. The terry cloth cover goes on/off in about 1 minute. I’m super satisfied, for little money!

Thanks,

I purchased the above based on your recommendation.

however, I returned it after finding this variation which has three elastic straps with adjustable buckles, fits slightly better, comes with a carrying bag, and a bit cheaper (though price has gone up since yesterday...)

for about $30 for both front seats, I have a poor man's version of the black racing package seats :)

Well those should work.
I’m good with the Terry cloth towel version I picked up. I don’t need three adjustable straps with buckles, a carry bag and a butt ugly headrest pocket.
I like the simple form of this basic one I installed. One elastic strap over the seat back, pull down, then attach that single hook to the underside of the seat bottom.

Truth be told, none of these universal covers look nice though.

I bit the bullet and ordered the Dream bolster protectors. Shipping and tariffs cost really increased the overall price of them but I am very pleased with the quality of the pieces and they blend in perfectly. The install is literally a minute per side using 2 Velcro attachments holding them in.

Opening the thread again since I notice slight sponginess on my driver's side left bolster (like a little after than the others). Do the dream automotive bolster protectors keep the foam from being compressed?

I'm been kinda lifting myself up and off the seat, but there's a point of contact I hit no matter what.

The Dream bolster firms it up and helps to minimize compression but does not stop it completely if all your weight is on it. It does spread out the weight better though

It looks like there's a gap here, this side can't be pulled down further?
