Could someone confirm if the aftermarket exhausts with the valve disabled may cause issues like quirks during cold start driving with stock tune? Wanted to get the Remark TI but it has the valve disabled. Not planning to tune the car.
I have the remark Ti, no issues. Very well made exhaust you will love it.

Love my sound with a 27Won downpipe and the valve bypassed, all that’s missing is the pops and bangs my si had with the same setup

had a random thought, is it possible to change the active valve behavior via Hondata?

For example:
Comfort: always closed
Sport: same behavior as stock
+R: always open.

Think that would be a feature that not only stock exhaust drivers would appreciate, but also those with aftermarket exhaust that still utilize the valve.

I agree with the OP. I removed the fuse and had the valve opened all the time. I, too, noticed that some of the low end responsiveness or torque was gone. Ran it for a couple weeks and imo didn’t think the sound upgrade was worth it. Put the fuse back in and all’s good again.

Drivability with the valve opened all the time was fine. Car ran fine with no issues. It just lot a bit of pep down low in the rpm range.

so what about all the exhaust companies that make an exhaust will no valve? anyone with a setup like that have any comments on this? anyone notice the difference that OP is talking about?

Having the exhaust valve opened is not a problem. The car still runs fine overall. Most people don’t even notice a difference in the subtle low end torque change. All just anecdotal. I, like the OP, did notice a difference so the fuse mod to keep the valve open wasn’t worth it to me; since the sound difference was so minimal.

And with an aftermarket exhaust, the louder exhaust sound will heighten the enjoyment of the car much more where the low end response or torque difference may not even matter or not noticed.

Who knows, maybe if I were to ever get an aftermarket exhaust, I may be ok with it not having a valve to get the sound

i just cleared 300 miles on my car last night and i decided to open the valve and got on full throttle for the 1st time ever so i cant really give my opinion. it felt fast and smooth but after seeing this post i put the fuse back in and will do a small pull tomorrow and compare. im actually curious. im sure its all in our heads we never really know....

Yes there is a table on the Hondata calibrations to allow you to change the exhaust valve opening points in the rpm for each drive mode (comfort, sport, +R) Although I haven't played with them myself, I do believe you're able to map the valve to be always opened on a particular drive mode.

I ran my car with the fuse removed and valve open for the first 6 months I owned the car. Out of curiosity I put the fuse back in for the last month and I have noticed absolutely no difference in any way except now I can’t hear my exhaust as well. I don’t understand how anyone is feeling a difference. I live in a very warm southern state that has 93 octane ready available. That is the only thing I can think of that could explain a difference. Personally I think this is just a placebo effect folks are experiencing.
