I’m very curious and love your design. I wonder if this question needs to be answered, after the test of time with several units but, am curious how CEL sensitive it is / will be?

In theory no, based on my simulations and design work. But I have to keep testing in real life and go from there — I'm not going to guarantee or claim something I haven't fully validated yet.

As far as why I didn't go cast — smooth walls inside, consistent thickness, keeps a perfect round shape through every bend so nothing's getting pinched or restricted. Castings can have rough surfaces inside, porosity (tiny air bubbles trapped in the metal you can't see that weaken it over time), and thin spots you'd never know about until something cracks. And let's be honest, the ETAs on cast pipes are so long because most of them are being poured in foundries in China with zero transparency on where they're actually made.

Mandrel bent takes more time and costs more to make but I think it's the better pipe. Cast is just easier to mass produce if you only care about volume. I care about a good product. Every one of mine is hand made and QC and attention to detail will always be a top priority.

Thanks! I’m definitely interested…not quite ready to pull the trigger on a complete system so, personally have some time to watch this develop. Looks like an awesome product and appreciate you honest approach more than anything!!!

Thank you for the interest and for following the journey. You'll have plenty of time to follow along and see the results as they come. Once I gauge interest from the first batch I'll keep manufacturing and building from there. I'll be honest the first few batches are going to have a wait. I hate long lead times on so I'm working to shorten that, but it's the reality of a small operation getting off the ground. I'm always going to be straight up with you guys en when it's not what you want to hear. If you follow my facebook group you will know I am not running this like other companies. At the end of the day I'm not a salesman — I'm an enthusiast just like you guys. Have been since the 90s.

Email: [email protected] to get on the first to know list when pre-orders open

More transparency about my downpipe production
Some of you have been asking about the catted downpipe pricing. This is why.

Every single one is hand built in the USA. Real GeSi cat — part number visible for a reason. Not mass produced overseas, not a rebrand.

3.5” smooth bend off the turbo → 4.5” GeSi cat → tapers to 3” at the front pipe. Rated to 850hp. Built right, priced honestly.

Data and pre order coming soon.

FL5 / DE5 High-Flow Catted Downpipe — Early Access List

We're building an early access list for the SBX catted downpipe pre-order.
If you want first shot at the initial batch before we open it up publicly, send an email to [email protected] with the subject line "Catted Downpipe Early Access" and I'll add you to the list.

What you get:
First notification when pre-orders open (before any public announcement)
Reserved window to place your order before general availability
Intro pricing on the first production batch that won't repeat after these units ship
What's in the pipe:

3.5" primary section off the turbo
4.5" GESI GEN2 Advanced G-Sport UHO catalyst (#85200, rated to 850hp)
3" outlet to match factory front pipe

Complete install kit option with JD Customs titanium hardware at both flanges
After these, we'll keep making them — but intro pricing is a one-time thing for people who get in on the first run.

If you're planning to run catted and want to be first in line, shoot that email. No commitment, just early notification.

Looks awesome and I am interested...Some additional questions:
  1. How much of a discount does the pre-order offer?
  2. Do both OEM 02 sensors connect to the downpipe without having to use an extension harness or offset/defouler?
  3. Is the 3.5" inlet pipe that is welded to the flange connecting to the turbine housing internally welded/smoothed?
  4. What grade of SS piping is used?

Thanks for the interest

1. Pre-order discount: Current pre-order pricing is live on the website at SBX FL5/DE5 3.5 Catted Downpipe | GESI GEN2 UHO | Titanium Hardware – SBX Performance

2. OEM O2 sensors: Upper O2 sensor connects directly to the downpipe. Lower O2 sensor uses an extension harness, which is included with the kit shown in pic

3. Internal welding on 3.5" inlet: Fully back-purged TIG-welded construction — clean, high-quality welds inside and out with no oxidation or contamination. No flow restrictions.

4. Stainless grade: T304 stainless. It's the ideal material for this application — 316/321 would be overkill and the cost difference isn't justified for a downpipe on these cars because this cost already to much to manufacturering a premium GESI downpipe.

Biggest difference between me and whats on the market is transparency. This will be a premium build with a LEGIT GESI cat with the part number still on it. Other companies do not have part numbers or they dont even say what kind of cat it is or who makes it which is shady business IMO. This is the 5th revision I did and believe this was my vision when I started. More to come soon :) Thanks for the educated questions and interest.

I will post the protoype when I get it back from testing this week. I will take pics inside and out. The email list is just to get early access before its open to the public no obligation to buy just showing interest. Might throw a few % off to the first few orders.

Pictures are of what comes with it depending on which kit you get. Titanium JD Customs included in the full install kit for upper and lower flange. The stand offs might look different I am still shopping

Sweet and thanks for the detailed reply...Count me in for an interest in ordering the downpipe. As for joining another mailing list, I'll pass.

When do you anticipate that the downpipe will be ready for production and shipment?

Also, what is the ID on the 3" downpipe outlet that connects to the front pipe? Stock downpipe ID on that connection point is 53mm (2.09") and TSP downpipe ID is 72mm (2.83").

I currently have the TSP downpipe installed and mated to a Fujitsubo front pipe measuring 70mm (2.76") and then connecting to a Fujitsubo titanium exhaust of the same diameter.

Haha, no worries about the mailing list I added your username from here instead lol. I totally get it.

Production should be starting next week (tentative), and I should have a much better ETA once that gets underway. I’d rather not throw out a random date right now and end up being one of those manufacturers that keeps pushing timelines back every week.

As for the dimensions, I’ll post all the measurements once I get the final piece back from testing hopefully by this weekend. I’ll include photos with the measuring tools so everyone can see the exact specs for themselves. I appreciate the questions and interest like I said its the 5th revision and I truly think this is going to be a great high flow downpipe and install once and forget about it for years. I am working on a solid warrenty plan also.

Ok fine full 3 inch ID at front pipe flange lol I guess I can share that
