You ready for the most affortable NO CEL Downpipe on the market?

Most aftermarket downpipe dyno results are shown on tuned cars.
A common question we see is:

1f449.png
How much power does a downpipe add on a completely stock tune?
To answer that, testing was carried out on a stock-tuned FL5 Civic Type R.

1f52c.png
TEST SETUP
Vehicle: FL5 Civic Type R
ECU: 100% stock (no tune)
Intake: MST Intake
1f4ca.png
DYNO RESULTS
Stock downpipe + MST intake
→ 320 whp / 478 Nm
MST 300-cell catted downpipe + MST intake
→ 327 whp / 480 Nm

1f50d.png
FINDINGS
• Peak power difference is small
• Realistic gain: ~8–10 hp
• Max gain of 10 hp / 12 Nm around 5000 rpm
• Results were consistent across multiple runs

1f449.png
Honest takeaway:
On a completely stock tune, a downpipe alone does not produce large peak gains.
This is real-world data — and it’s rarely shared.

2705.png
WHY THE MST CATTED DOWNPIPE
• Enlarged tubing design
• Large 5” catalytic converter
• 300-cell high-flow cat
• No CEL guarantee
• No exhaust odor
• Designed to pass U.S. emissions
• 2-year catalytic converter warranty
1f3c1.png
FINAL THOUGHTS
The FL5 Type R is a unique platform.
More parts don’t always mean more power.
Without tuning, gains will be limited.
With proper tuning, meaningful performance gains begin.
MST focuses on parts backed by real data — not hype.

What are the thoughts on this as it compares to the TSP option?
Hey man! MY honest opinion about it is The TSP is solid option and has been around a bit longer so much data on it and users so it’s a known quantity. My TSP downpipe I have the heat shield doesnt fit it and and I refuse to butcher anything on my 60k car. Thats the only issue I have personally had with TSP so its a good option. bviously the GESI cat is a huge bonus

The HUGE big difference with the MST setup is the 3.5” diameter straight off the turbo paired with the large 5” 300-cell metal cat, which helps keep backpressure down while still being catted. That design should give quicker spool and better flow compared to more traditional layouts. it will 100% outflow the TSP in my opinion and the 3.5 inch diameter off the turbo will help it cool down a bit more than traditional. NO CEL guarantee on the MST downpipe for 2 years which is a rare warrenty

They are sending me one will be here by end of the month. Hopefully my new turbo will arrive this month so I can post content and test stuff. MST has posted all of their testing on the facebook groups and is very open about their data. they have been around awhile overseas and known to make good stuff. Also they are doing the right thing and moving to Texas to make these more affortable. I will be running this downpipe on my setup 100% so I can keep you updated

Thanks for the details! How do you feel the quality is on the MST and its welds? Do you think it will hold up in the long run?

Looking forward to your feedback once you get it.

:coffee: I've been on the fence about a new DP & EXH. these past few weeks.....I did not see this back in December. Have there been any significant price changes? Do they offer MLS gaskets?

I'm willing to bet if someone gets this Cerakoted, it would pass visual inspection for those states that have emissions testing.

that’s my theory also it’s very OEM with that heat shield that comes with it. I will
Probably get mine coated anyway. As long as you have a Cat NYS doesn’t car if it’s aftermarket in my experience

hey nobody has received it yet! MST was closed for vaca over there for two weeks. Should have some by end of week! Wouldn’t worry about fitment same as any other downpipe OEM fitment. I’ve seen it installed on MST car I’ll try to find pictures. I’ll post pics when the customers receive them 👍
