The Smoking Tire? I'm not surprised. Matt was not happy with how Honda handled the embargo "dates"........... but maybe there's another reason.surprised there is no TST video

That's fair and I understand your take, but everything is more expensive. If a track focused car is faster around a track how is the competition's lead growing? Who's this competition with a lead? Last I checked the JCW Mini GP was fastest to 60 among fwd vehicles, but it sucks to drive on the street. Nobody on here is saying "go buy a Mini GP." Golf R isn't class competition because its awd and slower around a track. The Type R will be fine. To me, the best Type R is the DC2. Other vehicles are quicker, but it best captures the spirit of Type R. The FL5 is simply the best Type R i can go buy new, so its the Type R I'll buy.not bitching. You should expect more from products you pay hard earned money for especially with huge price increases. I don't want the Type R to fall in to the STI trap where the car just stays stagnate while the competition lead grows.
But the car has given you more for your hard-earned money.not bitching. You should expect more from products you pay hard earned money for especially with huge price increases. I don't want the Type R to fall in to the STI trap where the car just stays stagnate while the competition lead grows.

110 would've been nice to see.Expected least 110mph trap for a 45k car, kinda disappointed.

Gti traps 105mph. They trap 113 with a apr s1.
@savagegeese and Throttle House are the only reviews you need to watchWho has the best review? I don’t have time to watch them all?![]()
but you do with how long it'll take for the cars to get out eastWho has the best review? I don’t have time to watch them all?![]()
Watched Savage Geese before it was taken down yesterday. Watched Raitis this morning. He’s always one of my favorites. I’ll check out Throttle House.@savagegeese and Throttle House are the only reviews you need to watch
Honestly, watching them is making it worsebut you do with how long it'll take for the cars to get out east

Yeah I’ve gotten that vibe about Raitis around here, but I’ve always liked his reviews.Savagegeese, Throttlehouse and Topher.
The StraightPipes was mostly pointless (and less entertaining than usual). I haven't watched Redline Review, Raiti's or Dougs (Find them both annoying)
It's stupid but it his video titles are alway soo click baity and he always wears the same clothes. Like bro, you can wear a different color shirt please??Yeah I’ve gotten that vibe about Raitis around here, but I’ve always liked his reviews.
Yep and I'd expect a car at the price of a Golf R to be much faster around a race track than an Elantra N but on many tracks it simply isn't. And that's not even considering how poorly the Golf GTi fares at a more comparative price. You should expect more from products you pay hard earned money for especially with huge price increases.
People here talk like they're all seasoned racers but bet most of you guys don't have much track time if at all. I certainly have less than 20 hours of track days. For the majority of you the Golf R will be faster on real world driving. The trick diff on the golf makes you a much better driver than you are. Comparing latptimes is moot, just cause you wear Jordans sure shit won't let you play like him.Yep and I'd expect a car at the price of a Golf R to be much faster around a race track than an Elantra N but on many tracks it simply isn't. It's horse for courses in the budget performance realm of the Type R, Golf, Elantra, Corlla, BRZ, etc. Each does a few things very well so to take a single metric and use that to pan a car is an exercise in futility.
