I'm so confused by expectations on this forum...

I think the debate is different for everyone which is the problem.

Stock for stock the FL5 being slower than the FK8 in the video provided by Throttle House is hard for some to deal with. If 30mph rolls are your thing. Then you have evidence to help you form an opinion.

Yet the FL5 is faster than the FK8 LE at Suzuka. An impressive feat that could be better measured if we knew what tires were on the FL5 when it ran. I can't find anything that mentions it and I don't think it is unreasonable to think it was also running Cup 2. Otherwise, why not mention it? An omission? I have my doubts. Marketing? That makes more sense to me.

So we can see that at least at Suzuka the FL5 is faster. If the track is your argument then cooling issues alone should help you form your opinion on a "reasonably big track."

What Ive been hearing is that the rigidity and the damping allow for way more extreme tire setup (than the fk8) like 285 slicks. Overall the rest is refinement.

Where is my Chris Harris review?

I blame you for it not being you YouTube
Harris doesnt really review it on TG, he mostly just thoroughly thrashes it and gets it a little sideways around their track, and then asks Paddy if he'd buy one.

It was more or less a first impression for them, I don't even think the UK has official pricing yet.

Albeit it was an impressive show of driving.
Chris Harris is the only redeeming factor of the current TG.

The episode where they went to the alps in a Pagani, 296GTB and GT4RS was good. I just check if there is a car/s I am interested in. Otherwise I don't watch.
I never watch the grand tour.

The difference is in the tires. They needed more tread for grip and to offset the 189 pound weight gain.
Just curious, where's the 189lb weight gain?

Published curb weights:

2020 FK8 - 3,121
2021 FK8 LE - 3,075
2023 FL5 - 3,188

The UK FK8 LE didn't have A/C or Radio. One article says it's 47kg (103 Ibs.) lighter than a standard FK8.

I thought I had read it was 189lbs, thanks for providing the actual numbers. So 67 pounds.
