I better not! If this thing doesn’t give me the thrill of the STI or more..

IM PUTTING CASES ON ALL YOU B*****S!!!
*Denzel Washington impression*

Jkjk yeah I confirmed with some people on IG that switched from the same vehicle and they promised I wouldn’t regret it. I can’t wait bro.. so many tasteful mods planned!
Never driven an STi before but extensively driven other Subarus of the same generation/age, assuming by your profile picture that yours was the "last" generation STi. Can't comment on driving comparison for the above reason but in the fit and finish department you're definitely going a step above. Subarus in my opinion have too many hard and scratchy plastics in the interior, so the Honda with its metallic knurled AC switches and soft touch plastics would definitely feel like a step up. Congrats!

Hey guys, new to this forum but hopefully it'll help me out getting an FL5.

I haven't really tried but those market adjustments totally kill me, well that and the fact that there's nothing here in Colorado Springs.

Little info about myself. 30 and this would be my first new car purchase from a dealer. I've always had old manual cars so I wanted something nice and go all out but for a fair price.

Looking for adm under 5k, none if possible but I know how crazy things are. No preference in color. Also willing to travel depending on how my job is, we're kinda busy with field exercises all the time now.

Thanks everyone!

Yep. He has a pair of stones though. Asked half the community for a $1000 finder's fee then posts here daily like everyone forgot he's a huge tool.
You're spending an awful lot of your time worrying about me. Your first few rounds of insults got clipped by the moderators. I'm definitely not going anywhere and will continue to post so get acclimated. Get yourself an FL5, I promise it will cure all that pent up rage you're suffering from.

Looking for an FL5? Looking for one at 5k ADM or less? yah, you and the rest of the world. The best advice is to start reading this thread from the early posts to see what everyone has had to go through just to get their cars. Some have worked for weeks and months just to get one....some (like myself) ordered last summer and had to wait almost 7 months for them to come in. Still others, who have been here since the beginning, have yet to get their cars. 😭

The info in the forum is a great education about the process. It helps to know what you are up against. Some people have had great luck -- you may too! So, do take the time to go back and read up.

Doubling down on the ego trip. Grossss.
How would you have accepted the $1k? PayPal? Venmo? Cash app? Lol.
Also Mods? You’re really backing this condescending cocky behavior of “I’m not going anywhere” also kinda gross.

You got guys like Aspec and Tuhroo who literally have taken so much time out of their days to help others who won’t even accept $3 for a beer. My new Friend 1971camaro calling dealers for me to try to get me my color choice.

I’m not mad. I’m disappointed. In the actions and the moderators. Karma is real tho. So hey.

Thanks! Yeah I've been slowly reading up on this forum when I get the time. Definitely very informative. Looks like it'll be a real challenge getting one but you never know the luck of the draw.

It's pretty messed up but I think we should give him the benefit of the doubt and let him apologize for his shady behavior. It was pretty touch and go early in the release of the FL5 so I'll personally allow him to redeem himself with apology given the circumstances.

I paid the average ADM for my car due to the convenience of being a local dealer and I literally spent no extra time searching. Just gave them my deposit and waited for my color. If you're arriving late to the party you either have to put in significant work or pay $5K ADM from what I can tell.

Personally I would start by blowing up the phones of all the dealers within 500 miles of your location(with vehicles in transit or in stock). Don’t tell them what you’re willing to pay. Just ask for a price and act surprised when they hit you with $10k-$25k dealer markup. Politely ask if they could add you to their list just in case they choose to lower the dealer markup.

I learned the hard way. Sales people would piss me off when they try justifying a $25k markup and then bash you for thinking you could do better than that.

@ScumbagRob already shared the motoring map, it’s your best resource. There’s nothing else left to do but make calls! ☎

- Hit up all the dealerships with no reports first.
- Round back to old vehicle reports. There are plenty of dealerships that I left reports on from over a month ago with no updates! Those dealerships are probably getting antsy to sell and it could work in your favor.
- Create an account and share your feedback so other ppl know what ADM the dealership still stands at. Plus it helps you keep track of who you already called. Good luck! 🍀

Honored, but I'm just following in the footsteps of AspecR, Tickle, tuhroo (good ones), and several others who have been generous enough to share their professional expertise -- the ones who guided many of us through the process and esp those who helped with their dealership perspective. Plus, every one of YOU, who have contributed, have been a great help to all of us. Something as simple as the way you all crowd-sourced the recall VINs. Sweet indeed!

I'm just trying to give back best i can, since if it were not for this board, i may have screwed up and either not understood how the cars were being allocated, or may have turned down a reasonable ADM... or worse still...i could have waited until too late if everyone wasn't encouraging each-other to get out there and get on a list BEFORE the cars got into the system. This board also helped me stay sane during the just-under 7- month wait through many delivery delays.

Some forums call themselves a 'community' because they all are familiar with one-another because they get on and talk to each-other. But this has been a true community, where those with knowledge constantly convey valuable info to everyone else. I love benefitting from any assistance or expertise of everyone on here. It's been a true pleasure. Thank you!

I'll tell you what I did which might help you. Called around the country, no restrictions when it came to location. My call log now has about 350 different instances of Honda mentioned, so my guess is easy 200+ dealers called. I started my search in late August, just when the car got revealed, so I was slightly late to the party compared to some guys who had already put in their deposits. The maps by @StevenMatchett and @dng definitely helped, but I still called other dealers as well. I went to CivicX forums where they had a "good" (MSRP) and "naughty" (markup) list of dealers for the FK8. First I called the good ones, and when I started to fall short of options, I called the naughty ones as well. Best part was that I had a lot of well wishers here and one of them actually gave me the leads to my car. I had already asked in the forums to give me any information on a Championship White below 55k OTD, and the messages kept coming in. So, in essence, call every Honda dealer you can find using the lists, and then some. If there's any news/rumors of a Type R coming to a dealer near you, go there in person. Would definitely help to show the dealer that you're serious which can possibly help you get the car.

Update:

Some Southeast dealers have gotten more allocations, my dealership just got allocated 3 FL5s. 2 CW and 1 SGP. RR and CBP continue to get even rarer.

This batch of allocations is large by the way. This is what I could pull for the State of Florida. Don't expect these cars to arrive before July.
