well clock is ticking. We should have a definitive answer within 3-4 months max I would think. Maybe sooner with this information “leaking”

All I know is that one side of this argument is going to look very silly. Just a matter of which one 😂
We'll see. I remember this topic even being discussed back when it released. The majority believed the FL5 would have less production numbers than the FK8.

Maybe it’s the Mandela effect talking, but when the FL5 was announced, I could have sworn that Honda threw up a slide that showed projected production numbers only through 2025. Would love to find that if it exists lol

I was hoping for an LE edition in something other than yellow. Maybe a tri color. I was hoping to sell my BB and then pick up a last year LE. If 2025 is the end then at least the car should hold it's value pretty well. They already lost more than i thought they would.

Heading to the auto show in Philly today. Not suspecting that they’ll have much intel, but I’ll definitely ask the Honda reps about the 2026.

Is it going to be Honda Corporate or a dealership at the show? Honda Corporate skipped a lot of autos the last few years. They skipped Detroit this year.

it was definitely Honda corporate. Got a bit of a runaround from the reps, but still some interesting info:

- they haven’t been officially informed whether there will be a 2026 or not.

- big Honda normally forwards them info on new models / facelifts etc. 6-8 months in advance of release so that they can prepare promotional materials. they have yet to receive anything on the 2026 FL5

- this would lead me to believe that either there isn’t going to be a 2026 OR that the 2026 is just going to carry over unchanged

- also of note, they didn’t have a FL5 at the show and not even an Si now that I think about it. That said the Honda people there were cool and very approachable.

I keep hearing that the Integra Type S will still be around for another year or two. Does that mean it meets the new sound regulations, but the Type R does not? They are essentially the same car, with the ITS having a more aggressive exhaust. I'm just surprised the same issue is not present with the ITS regarding the new compliance regulations that is set to start in 2026.

It is strange to announce a new package several months into the model year. If it was the final year though I would think Honda would announce it along with the package to increase demand and as a courtesy to buyers/fans.
That’s for overseas anyways I pretty sure not available in the us.

So I am new to the Honda game. Does Honda only sell cars to other countries that they can sell in Japan first? If it doesn’t sell in Japan, then no one gets it?

Love this discussion and speculation. My only thought is it would be a shame if they can't somehow make a 30th anniversary edition in 2027.

No. Honda is the parent company of Acura. The ITS is only sold in North America. It is also built in the US.

I point this out to say that, I think, where different models are sold has more to do with (not necessarily in this order) : 1. Where they’re made (the specific plants). 2. Marketability/ Market conditions of various regions. 3. Regulatory requirements of various regions.

Honda is pretty much like any other automaker.

Copying from a Reddit post I made and this is mostly for Canada. However, When number line up hard to ignore the other facts attached.

Only 540 units are allocated for the 2023-2025 model years. This can be verified on Honda's corporate page, as the Type R is the only model made in Japan and exported here.

Initially, the rumor was that 540 units would be produced for Canada over three years, and so far, the numbers align—180 units have been confirmed for 2023 and 2024. While there’s hope for a refresh in 2026, if someone accurately predicted the allocation, it’s likely they’re correct about the production timeline as well.

Here is the link :https://global.honda/en/newsroom/news/2024/c241225eng.html?from=latest_area. Just go to export from japan and minus USA from rest of NA.

I assume the Type S will continue to sell as the assembly and production is separate. This along with the prelude coming out makes little sense to export the Type r to North America. The engine situation was already insane to me because it was made in the USA and then shipped to Japan.

Personally hoping they continue it, finding parts at a more reasonable price is insane and this added tax due to limited production makes the fl5 the worst car to modify compared to FK8.
