Aftermarket tire experience

Looking for opinion and real world experiences. I need to purchase some tires for the rims that will be delivered in a few days.
18x9.5 *38 so more than
likely size them 265x35x18

The vehicle has coilovers and is lowered

My default tire choice is ps4 I've been happy so far with the factory tire.
Not going to track this tire and wheel combo only canyon and mountain roads so don't need so no need for race tire.

What are you using and how is your experience ?

have heard good things about Conti DWS 06 Plus (23 lb.) and Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 4's (27 lb.)

i'd probably go with the Conti's because they are significantly lighter

a year ago I would say ps4 or bust but seems like conti has caught up and now makes a good tire thats comparable and its cheaper.

And yeah if you not gonna track stay away from a 200tw tire

Some others have said conti was too squishy. The DWS is also an AS tire. The comparable conti I think is the extreme contact sport02, which others have also said isn't as responsive as the PS4S.

I've been looking for a tire for the near future, so I'm curious to hear more experiences.

The original DWS06 definitely had a squishy feel to them which I didn't like. However, the new DWS06+ has remedied that feeling for the most part.

I think I'm just going to stick with the ps4. Haven't really seen any evidence that there is a new king of street tire.

The info I gathered from the conti is the price make it to great choice.

I'll run with the ps4 and try something else on the stock rims.

I've run the PS4S on 3 different cars and have nothing negative to say about them, maybe except for their price.

i read a bunch of reviews and everyone says they are both quieter than the stock Goodyear Eagle A/S's (goodyear-very loud,)

Sorry, where is eagle A/S offered stock? Ive only known PS4S as OEM with the FL5, and is a summer tire.

Conti DWS, Eagle sport A/S and PS A/S are all seasons and would be expected to handle differently - which is ok if you need an A/S.

Conti's tend to have a much softer sidewall. This raised heck with a Scion FR-S stability control, but not sure about CTR's.

I had General's (Conti brand) on a 2004 Acura TL 6MT. Soft sidewall was very annoying in semi-truck wakes, where the car reacted weirdly to the turbulent air. Otherwise excellent tires, but Michelin Pilot Supersports were much better on that car.

I was not happy with my Continental Extremecontact 02 Sport. In the 18" size they felt significantly worse than stock.

It's hard to compare the factory SUMMER tires to all season tires so you need to be comparing tires in a similar class.

If you're downsizing to 18" wheels I recommend something with a stiffer sidewall. The Michelin PS4S will be similar to stock but a little softer in 18" 35 series size so if you want to be comparable to the stock 19" wheels you might want to go with a 200 TW tire.

These Conti’s for the win.

I am absolutely blown away by the versatility and performance of this all season tire. The PS4 has a super sharp feel but thats where it’s benefits end.
