Hey! Car was sitting for almost 2 months in garage. Had to charge the battery. It was drained.

Took it out for a ride. Fully warmed up. I started pushing it. The second time I did a pull, I was full throttle from 2nd to 3rd. Then I thought I saw a cop in the opposite lane. So I hit the brakes, went from about 73 down to 59. Then a few seconds later I smelled a burning smell. Kind of like exhaust metal and rubber. Like someone did a burnout. Very weird.

The smell lasted about 20-30 seconds while driving. Front windows were open an inch.

I drove normal and went back around to do 2 more pulls. No smell or anything.

Anyone else experience this after the car has been sitting? Not sure if it was the brakes, or clutch, or something else.

Car has ~1800 miles.

Could be. I have never smelled clutch before. So I wouldn't know what to smell for.

Just don't know how a clutch can slip in the middle of a gear. Car was pulling hard. Probably the second time I did full throttle pull like that all the way up to the redline beep in its life. All other pulls were 80% - 100% but not to the beep sound. I usually do a couple pulls everytime I take it out (which, unfortunately, is not often at all)

or ... brakes heating up after sitting for months. As it went away i wouldn't worry about it unless it happens again. (If this is a new CTR you wouldn't be burning the clutch unless you're "riding it" (not releasing it fully).)

Minus anything animal/pest related. If all that happened was as you described, accelerating hard and then hitting the brakes hard, it was most likely just the brakes heating up and off-gassing, "cooking" a little. If you have never or rarely driven the car hard, this is especially normal as long as when you were accelerating, you did not drag the clutch between shifts. Either way, I seriously doubt you hurt anything. The most important thing is that you analyze what you did in the moment and watch for repeated behavior or observations. My .02 cents. Now, go drive the f'n car more!

It could be the smell of the engine breaking in. The only cars I bought new were my GT350 and the CTR. Whenever I came home I noticed a heavy oil burning smell from the engine. The CTR smell wasn't as strong (smaller engine) but its would give off that particular smell of a new engine thats being broken in. It noticed it went away around 4000 miles.
