You are a better artist than me ? messed up the first hole, not noticeable unless you get close and look ?

If you go to the hardware store or car part store and get a small vacuum hose, you can slice it longways, then use it as a trim piece around the hole you cut, hiding the jaggies.

thats why I was asking since you were not able to. Looking at pictures of it without the cover it does seem like it would not be possible

How do you know that its not all the way in? I couldn't tighten mine anymore, so I assumed that it was good

I guess I could remove the cap and take a closeup picture to see the how far out it goes without the cover

I never did a close up but this is how it looks like without the cover

Yeah I think that be the way to know remove cover tighten it all the way and see how many turns it takes, then do the same with cover. But I guess you can probably tell with cover on? Is it stoping turning because its bottomed out or because its hitting the cover?

anyone else have binding issues when screwing the rear tow hook? I can only screw in the tow hook a couple of turns.

Thanks for all the good suggestions. Recently installed mine front and rear and am pretty happy with the end result. I took my time on the rear and I think it tirned out to be pretty clean looking.
