I love the sound when starting (with the valve open). It has a low growl that’s so reminiscent of my ‘09 Si at idle. I wish it was constant like my Si. I hope Honda provides a software update to give us more actual exhaust sound (and a soft button to turn the pumped-in exhaust sound off). We’ll see what happens.

Has anyone with their valve opened long-term noticed a significant amount more soot on the centre exhaust pipe? I've had mine open since the day this was posted, and I'm enjoying the sound, no light/code - but extra soot compared to before this mod.

I have, and I like it personally. Shows that the car is being used. You can always clean it if you don't like it.

I have been having the valve open for 1 month. To be honest, I found the driving experience isn't as smooth for daily hence I put the fuse back. I'm not sure about track work as I haven't been.

What do you mean by "the driving experience isn't as smooth for daily"?

I'm saying I felt hesitation when driving at low rpm and at times jerky. Probably just me? I'm quite sensitive.

I had a similar experience with mine. I put the fuse back in and it improved.

It was mostly on cold start that I noticed the engine not running as well.

Interesting. I've never noticed any hesitation with the valve always open. I'll watch out for it next time.

Nah. I've been driving stick for 20 years. The car drives fine in both conditions. It's just the cold start in a colder climate (not everyone lives in California) where I noticed some stuttering at low RPM.

I really don't care what you do with your car. Honda made it a valved exhaust for a reason and since the noise is barely different it's not unreasonable to think it was either for emissions or engine calibration reasons.

no issues cold or hot start ... not sure what you guys are feeling... no engine code or check engine light, so the car shouldn't behave any different.

good...leave your fuse in.

Mind you, it's winter in Australia and it's summer in America. It could be it :)
