In Italy, FL5 "Best Lap" Edition. 99 units.

Yesterday I and other FL5 owners were in Modena for the Motorvalley show and Honda Italia presented the FL5 Best Lap in the last 99 examples for our market. In these same days Ultimate Edition was also presented in 40 examples for all of Europe with only the Championship White livery and some different accessories. They could have done better for sure.

They could have at least made a unique color for the special edition but bean counters would scoff.

If I read the article right, there will still be a 2026 model year for the UK as they'll sell the remaining units as 2026 models + the 40 "ultimate" editions.

You know….i was thinking. Such a “lame” send off probably means they really did max out everything on the type R this last generation. They probably don’t know what else they can improve. The suspension changes alone had this car beat the LE of the fk8. So…maybe we should be happy that they couldn’t make it better cause we have a badass car?

I think people would be happier if the send off didn't seem so thrown together. Considering this is supposed to be the last petrol only Type R, you'd think Honda would do more. Phoenix Yellow, special wheels, some weight reduction, and all the carbon bits would be a good start.

EDIT: one thing that came to mind is, are they looking at what the market is willing to swallow if they were to do an LE? I suppose it doesn't matter as people were spending 10-25K markup for first wave of FL5.
