Yeah I was looking at phearable stage 2, but the hondata event isn't local to me so I'll be road tripping back home on the base tune. Just want to make sure it's safe. I know lots of people use it longer term but I've also read some things about it running lean etc.
You’ll be fine driving home with it. It does run lean but won’t hurt anything from what I have seen. But def would recommend a better tune after…way better.
Dang I wonder why they would make it run lean? Is it dangerously lean?
Try with rev match disabled. It drastically reduces if not completely eliminates rev hang. The rpms fall too fast for my liking with rev match disabled!
The Hondata 91 base map definitely does not run lean, it runs rich if anything. The 93 map is leaner for sure but not unsafe in any way, in fact it is much closer to the target AFR you would see on one of the better OTS tunes or even custom tune. If you are worried about it, just run the 91 map and you will be more than fine.
Ended up not getting jailbroken. The hondata guys decided to do the event early without notifying anyone so I drove 4 hours for nothing haha. I'll be taking this as a sign and probably won't be tuning it for the foreseeable future. I was on the fence anyways
Oh damn! That's pretty shitty, I'm sorry man. You could always do a remote jailbreak if you wanted to have it tuned without having to ship your ECU off anywhere. That's what I was going to do until I saw last minute they were coming to Phoenix so I did that instead.
Yeah it was shitty and kinda soured me on the whole thing. Maybe I'll look into the remote jailbreak
