I hate seeing posts about Type R's getting stolen. Here are a few good/inexpensive products to keep your car safe!

Don't forget to remove the little speakers from the Airtags as otherwise they can make noise, so are easy to find.
Thanks, had no idea, first time I purchase AirTags... removed the speaker from the "hidden" one. left speaker on the more obvious one.

The product I ended up researching and using was the Eufy Smart Track tags. They are similar to Airtags, but the benefits I found were:
-Speakers were easier to remove than Airtags
-Works with Apple Find My App, and *Possibly* Android with the Eufy App (I can't confirm this)
-Cost. Tags can be had for about 10 bucks each in a multipack when on sale.

Downside would be that the chip used in these aren't as advanced as the airtag, meaning it won't direct you exactly to the tag within feet or less. It'll get you real close, which for a stolen car is better than nothing.

VIdeo to removing the speaker on the Eufy:

I bought the following: vvt obd gen 2 non gm.
https://vargasturbo.com/product/vtt-obd-lock-odb-port-locking-tool/

AMTIFO Security Cameras Wireless Outdoor Magnetic or similar battery powered - amazon

Faraday pouches: https://mosequipment.com/collection...ucts/mission-darkness-faraday-bag-for-keyfobs

https://mosequipment.com/collection...sion-darkness-dry-shield-faraday-phone-sleeve

I haven't tried this model yet.. I may want to upgrade from the small key pouch since it wears out after awhile..
https://godarkbags.com/collections/...t-key-fob-faraday-cage?variant=44151447781589

I carry the key pouches on the go and when I'm at home, I leave the pouch inside the bigger pouch. Talk about stacking lol. Good luck trying to catch a signal with that.

If I got alerted on my phone and they try to run me over I'll have a .45 acp ready for them. Windshield replacement vs a stolen car, I say worth it 👌

.45 ACP might cause more than just a windshield replacement such as holes in the seats, cleaning up blood stains and brain matter off the seats, etc., plus lawyers charge quite a bit, even if you are justified.

For me, I believe that this scenario might be highly unlikely, I will have to get outside and by the car within seconds of being notified that the car is messed with. if at night while asleep, it will take me a lot longer than that, by which time, the perps would be long gone, or even if they are still getting away, I will not be justified using lethal force (CA has castle doctrine and stand your ground, but cannot use lethal force to protect property)

being a geek, I could not resist following up on the Vico camera, and found this:

https://keep.tech

$300 plus $10/mo for LTE connectivity

also found more of a DIY solution (which is probably over my abilities, software geek)

https://teltonika-gps.com/products/trackers/fmc130

with radar proximity sensor

https://www.amazon.com/Directed-Install-essentials-Motion-Sensor/dp/B0009VFOME

add PIR motion sensor(s), shock/vibration sensor, tilt sensor (detect towing?), add (or integrated with built in horns) sirens to chirp when proximity sensor sense, and go full blast upon detecting entry

all powered by a LiFePO4 battery which will be charged when the car is driving...

Or a professionally installed Viper DS4 and SmartStart ($10/mo) for about $500

Wonder if anyone in the CTR community has IGLA and can speak on it? I did some reading on Raptor/TRX forums, definitely sounds like a solid option.

BMW Flamethrower is another option for unfortunate souls that get a little too close.

Have it on my ITS and TLX-S. Sometime I even trigger it because I forget about it... (the highjack feature)

This is the only thing that gives me peace of mind about my car getting stolen. But I do have more theft protection on my car, but this one is the harder to bypass. But at the end, if thieves come and put the car on a truck, the IGLA does nothing for this (so, add tracker and Airtags also).

You can also add other protections, like a The Club steering wheel bar, a hidden killswitch, have the car marked with Sherlock (if you have this in the US), add an OBD port blocker, etc...

The more you add, the harder it is to steal. And the more "surprising things" that happen one after the other if a thieve try to steal it, the faster the guy will want to run away before getting caught.

Awesome, thanks for replying! Definitely sounds like a great option.

As far as other options, I've been through some of the tough Honda theft times in my local area, and we 'old school' guys learned some tricks and theft deterrents that still hold up today. I do enjoy seeing the advancement in theft protections though, as the thieves have kept up with the technologies of the cars and it is unsettling.

I bought the Faraday pouches, stickers, and am awaiting the OBD2 lock that is held up at Canadian customs. In my area, having a manual is an added security measure.
