Has anyone else had an issue with their PS4S's with inaide tread chunking? My tires have 17k on them, no track days, no auto-x and just street driving. They all still have 6/32 remaining.
Yeah definitely curious what's going on here. ^Cold temps and at-the-limit driving would be a culprit but I'm leaning alignment as well.
Not 100% clear from the pics but is this just one tire? That would at least point to a tire failure but if it's happening on more than one that's environmental.
Usually when I've seen customers with tires like that are for several reasons.
1) driven regularly on sharp edged rock or brick roads/driveways.
2) aggressive driving on summer tires in cold winter.
3) tire tread separation from rubber that did not cure properly when manufactured.
PS4S usually have a 30k mile warranty. If this happening on all four tires you should get a proration credit (a little less than 50% $ towards another Michelin/bfgoodrich tire) if you claim it as "tread separation". Bring it to a tire center and they will contact Michelin.
